Antenociti makes the Komodo which has a lot of the same rounded themes. This is one that Agis/AAN painted alongside 2 sedition wars figures that also feel very nomadish to me.

I do like the Queadluun Rau posted in the Robotech thread. Those are 1/250 scale and mounted on 40mm bases. Perhaps not everyone's taste, but again they have a rounded style that you might find interesting. For my warmachine Hyperion colossal I use a 1/144 version of that figure. Call me cheap if you like, but I'm not paying $135 when I can spend $18 on a better looking model.

I'm surprised Bolognesus got modhammered but Baiyuan did not, as he flat out calls people that play with proxies stupid and cheap and immature. He's against proxies, and that's fine and totally cool to say so (once), but his posts in this thread have been entirely negative towards those people that are interested in using them and have done nothing but sidetrack the conversation away, it would be nice if the mods deleted them or replaced them with "I don't like proxies at all" so we could get back to discussing cool figs.

A problem I have is that not much else out there really fits in with the style of Infinity. Sedition Wars does for the most part. Stuff like the Firebrands look like they could probably fit in decently with the Nomads. Everything else that's out there though seems to just ape 40k or Aliens for the most part in terms of style and design.

If I ever find someone interested in taking a swing at Infinity, we'll probably end up starting with my Deadzone models. I think the human rebs are fairly truly scaled and probably similar in size to Infinity models, I can say better when I get my hands on some. And unless Infinity models are much smaller than I'm thinking, my corporation marines should serve well as any "basic armored infantry" like algualciles (sp) or fusileers or what have you, they're scaled well and look like future military to me. Maybe good for Pan-O with Enforcers filling one of the many HI they have.

But don't get me wrong, I definitely want some CB minis, especially Bakunin Nomads, I just feel like I can get some mileage out of other non-infinity models as well. Hmm mars attacks may have some civilians though they'll be the wrong time period, maybe a couple will work...And it would be hilarious to have the Martians fighting other Infinity forces

I'm definitely for the rule of cool and painted proxies meeting some kind of theme. It's a delicate balance, but I'm pretty easygoing.

Nothing wrong with this. A lot of people who jump ship from 40k start off by downloading the free rules and proxying lists with 40k models.

Iguana would be the most logical solution. It looks hot, belongs to the faction anyway and I don't think anyone will complain about it.

It's pretty small for an Iguana. I'd go with with it as a Gecko proxy.

Those antenocitis suits are more often seen as geckos in my experience.

I've seen kitbashed "Iggy"s (prior to the Iguana model) using a combination of Lizard and other bits for it - and my more uprght Lizard conversion was intended as an Iguana proxy to start with.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

On the note of those lovely Sedition blokes, does anyone know if there's any place I can get singles of the human forces? Even though the Battle for Alabaster is quite affordable and frequently goes on sale, I'd feel pretty damn guilty having a mountain of unused figs lining my shelf (Which is already crowded enough as it is).

You can probably pretty easily get the metal singles from Sedition Wars on Ebay. I know I've seen lots of the infected figures and the Firebrand on there. I know some hobby shops carry them, as well. Though, they might be a bit more expensive that getting the restic ones.

Much more expensive, actually.
Desert Fox, let me know what you're looking for. I have a bunch and I'm sure I can spare a bunch at a fair price
