Here is a cool army that I want to field as soon as I get my Escalation supplement in hand. I would have picked it up yesterday but the area I live in (DFW) was hit with an ice storm and my FLGS wasn't able to get the GW shipment in. These are just models I have and really like. I'm not a fan of the way normal Eldar troops look so I want to use only Wraith stuff (guard, blade, knight, lord). Please keep this in mind when you look at my list. Also, it isn't very competative as I only have 23 models in a 2500 point list. I have not had a chance to see the Escalation book yet, but I've been told that the Revenant Titan was in it and I assume it's still 800 points.

Spiritseer

Wraithguard x5 w/ Dscythe
Wave Serpent w/ TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Ghost Walk Matrix, and Holo-Fields

Wraithguard x5
Wave Serpent w/ TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Ghost Walk Matrix, and Holo-Fields

Wraithguard x5
Wave Serpent w/ TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Ghost Walk Matrix, and Holo-Fields

Fire Prisim w/ Holo-Fields
Wraithknight
Wraithknight

Revenant Titan w/ Pulsars

I have 15 points that I'm not sure how to spend. The Spiritseer will jump in the serpent with the D-Scythes.

Well, the Titan is a bit more expensive, +100 pts.

Quick question. Does the Escalation book have the data sheets for each model or do you have to also get the relevant IA book?

I would. It'd be cool to take down a revenant titan.

The problem will be that if you lose the titan you are in big trouble. You don't really have a way to protect it and could lose it to a single Sternguard squad in a drop pod.

Nice theme but it has weaknesses.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Well, killing a Rev. Titan is almost impossible. Even if you have a tailored list, this guy will kill your army in two or three turns. We've decided to play our Dec. tournament without the Escalation and Stronghold rules.

We will just agree to disagree. I find triple Land Raiders harder to kill than the Revenant.

I have 4 super heavy IG tanks that I will let my opponent choose from to add to his forces (regardless of what army he uses). I have no desire to use a titan against someone that doesn't have a super heavy.

I mostly got the model because of an excellent deal and I bought the escalation book becuase I have 4 super heavy IG tanks that I never get to use. I tried to get a small apoc game together and told everyone I will divided my super heavies up evenly between the sides just to see them in action. No takers so I hope I will be able to use them more with this book. Though I know two people who really want to take a crack at this titan sans super heavies.

Doesn't every themed army? I play 40K for fun and I'm competative at a lot of things but 40K just isn't one of them. At sports, cards (poker/spades), and betting I am competative; just not little plastic modles for some reason. I like the models and enjoy playing against fun armies. The only thing I don't enjoy is the hyper-competative ones. Not hating on anyone who plays them, I just rather go against fun, well painted armies.

And I just changed my list again; I have some left over points:

Spiritseer

Wraithguard x5 w/ Dscythe
Wave Serpent w/ TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Ghost Walk Matrix, and Holo-Fields

Wraithguard x6
Wave Serpent w/ TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Ghost Walk Matrix, and Holo-Fields

Wraithknight
Wraithknight
Wraithknight with Sun Cannon, shield, and Scatter Laser

Revenant Titan w/ Pulsars

Very wraith-y, I think I get the theme you are going for. Wraithmania! Should could drop the ghost walk matrix's in exchange for a wraithforge stone, which synergises very well with wraithknights. If you have 3 wraithknights, I understand you wanting to play them, but theme-wise I would suggest trying to get your hands on a forgeworld wraithseer, she has an AMAZING model and great rules when working with wraiths. Also...shoulder mounted D-Cannon.

Damn you! I thought I had dropped enough money on this army and here you go telling me about the next unit I now have to go and buy because it sounds like an excellent idea... Is the wraithseer in IA:11? If so I might wait for them to update that book.

I'm pretty sure they have an FAQ about her new rules, like they did about the Warp Hunter and Shadow spectres.

Found it, you don't even need to buy new book. Just print new rules. If you are going for a themed wraithlist, he is the way to go

This is not the points. What's the damage output of three Land Raiders? The Revenant has an incredible damage output. He can kill three LRs per turn with four 5'' D blasts.

I like your second list quite a bit better.

Revenants are insanely good. Your list is solid. It is definitely lacking in troops, but when you spend 1,400+ points on 4 models that is going to happen

Let me know how your games go. I really am interested to see how the Revenant performs.

You're kidding. Sorry. The Revenant is invincible unless the enemy has a tailored list, and its not even clear how such a list should look like.

The biggest weakness in the lsit is that it has basically no home abjective scoring units. your wasting the wraiths if your using them for that. I would consider dropping one squad of wraiths for a mon dire avenger squad and then some rangers or jet bikes.

With escalation i really want a revenant titan.

It is a very valid point. If I go first and drop the titan on turn two the titan had one turn to shoot at two units and likely destroy them. If the titan goes first he will likely kill 4 units before going down.

In apoc games, superheavies can come in at every turn, even in turn 1. Not sure if this holds for normal 40k games, too.
A player worth his salt will know when to deploy the Titan and when not. But there is half the chance to have night fight and your list must really be tailored to kill this beast. Good luck.

The issue is he kills the stuff that is a threat to him. He has a 36" move a super 4++ that even works against Destroyer and stacks with cover saves. Killing him in 2 turns is not as easy at it seems for most all comers lists when playing with normal terrain and him killing your best units every turn.

I was just wondering what you were using to kill him in 2 turns?

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com
