So an IF gunline sat in a Wall of Martyrs Defence Network. Again largely long range lots of Lascannons, lots of AA and 2 battlecannons. No less than 4 AV14 buildings.

It wouldn't be the best list ever but it sounds like SOOOOO much fun.

I'd probably put the Centurions in the buildings so you'll really struggle to hurt them and they can all fire out (except against Helldrakes where the marines sit in buildings) would dropping the quad gun and 5 points (so a plasma cannon) to get a 3rd building be worth it. I lose a lot of firepower and interceptor for more survivability.

I recon I out shoot Tau with that list due to range and their inability to deal with AV14 reliably from range. Same story for Crons as all their Haywire and Gauss is irrelevant.

What armies cause this real problems?

In any game that requires you to get an objective.

You're screwed with only 3 scoring units in The Relic.

You're effed hard on The Scouring.

Big Guns Never Tire will be a giant pita.

That's a very very static list, No mobility, you'll be completely reactionary, with no proactive capabilities, and no ability to Adjust enemy target priorities whenever you want.

Most armies cant deal with av14 from a distance so once they try to close the distance they will come into grav weapon range.

I would maybe try and take 2 devastator squads and a centurion squad. Have the 2 dev squads and have 4 lascannons and combat squad them.

Im getting a lot of fun fun ideas with IG and a bunch of infantry squads with heavy weapons lol.

I don't see objective based games being a problem particularly big guns. Static doesn't mean I can't move and objectives don't mean you have to. The Relic should be a breeze with this list you're forced to come toward me or try to out do me on secondaries (good luck with the later).

Who thinks a 3rd building does more than the Quad gun and plasma cannon?

I would probably say the buildings are good where they are at.

Remember the Cents all have Tank hunters each unit pumping out 3 S9 and 3 S8 shots a turn. Plus the bolter drill with that big squad will hurt anything that gets close (puts about 10 wounds on T4).
