I have to admit, I LIKE the Necrons retcon. I hated the Terminators IN SPACEEEE
At least now there is a little bit of personality to them.
The worst is Ollanius Pius being changed to a IF/Custodian. Ya That I agree is the worst.

If you think the Oldcrons lacked personality and depth, you should see the DKoK!
At least the Oldcrons had some threat and mystery to them.

Eh, I remember many people calling them metal tyranids. As for me, I like both old and newcrons. If there's anything I dislike it would be the ridiculous clothes of the necron lords. Just throw away the high tech pharaohs and put the Nightbringer in their place.

I have to say some aspects of Newcrons I love some I hate. The aura of mystery they had is basically gone and I do miss the fact that they were soulless monsters led by beings who styled themselves as gods. Also Pariahs. WHY WOULD YOU TAKE OUT PARIAHS?!

Pariahs didn't make any sense at all , for some reason the necrons implanted a blank gene in some random race that had no importance, and "Somehow" knew they'd become relevant, entirely populated and spread across the galaxy, instead of being smeared across the galaxy by the Enslavers, the Eldar, the Orks, or something else.
And the C'tan were pretty much straight up gods, there's a reason why I've nicknamed the Mary Sue'tan. And the mystery they had? I mean what Mystery, they were jealous beings who really wanted to win a war, got into a bad deal with the Deciever and then became metal tyranids that went across the galaxy for it's "Red Harvest" to feed the C'tan. How is that mysterious!?
Put Jokaeroes into a Inquisition force without any explanation.
It was mentioned before some Inquisitors will take Xenos into a Retinues.

The C'tan explicitly were able to foresee this due to their nonlinear perception of time and space.
And the C'tan were pretty much straight up gods, there's a reason why I've nicknamed the Mary Sue'tan.
Like how the Chaos Gods, Emperor, Gork and Mork, and Khaine are gods? But like the others, the C'tan were not currently in any fit state to go about fething gak up with cosmic power (Which is why having them be tabletop creatures was dumb).

Because the details methods, the true scale of the Necron threat, and how deep the Necrons infiltrated Imperial society were obscured at the time.
If you don't know the old fluff, why debate it?

Aside from the Emperor, who even as a 'God' managed to get beaten by a really powerful ork and needed Horus to save him, the C'tan were able to:
Put the Fear of Death in every race except Orks (!?)
Manipulate parts of Chaos and the Imperium to work it over better.
Due to Non-linear time they are able to outgambit everyone, including fogging up Eldar repeatedly.
The Void dragon was said to be manipulating the Emperor to include it's influence (And that before additional fluff, was said to be in a place it wanted..)
Can Manipulate Real Time space, thus being unlike Gork/Mork/Chaos Gods, they can actually go out and murder people, and unlike the Laughing God who is still alive, they have the strength to pull off and beat the utter Gak out of people.
Because the details methods, the true scale of the Necron threat, and how deep the Necrons infiltrated Imperial society were obscured at the time.
I suppose the True Scale is why I dislike them. I could say that one of the reasons I dislike them is that Chaos has been basically dying as it is when it comes to being a threat, and that Necrons basically souped up and took over, not only as enemies of the Imperium (and all of everything), but the desire to completely cut the warp from real space.
If you don't know the old fluff, why debate it?
Snide Comment, but of course I've pretty much disliked the C'tan after they began shoehorning them in everywhere as the Ultimate Evil. At least when Tau were introduced they didn't get shoehorned into as the Biggest Imperium that could beat out the Imperium.

I didn't like the retcon on the Blood Angels flaw.
I'm sure in the original fluff, geneseed is taken from Sanguinius body after his death, in order to restore the legion, which was all but destroyed defending Terra. That is why when Blood Angels see visions of the primarchs memories, these include strong memories of his death. And it also explains why the geneseed is damaged. It all made sense.
But then for some reason this was changed to something about Sanguinius lets out a psychic scream which echoes through time blah!!!!!!! Change it back !

The Eldar, Imperium, and Chaos can also farsee, so I fail to see how them being able to see the future makes them Sues.
Quote the page where the Void Dragon was said to manipulate the Emperor. The Emperor, who as we know from Mechanicum, defeated the Void Dragon in a battle.
The Chaos Gods have created Warp Storms at planets and obliterated them (Caliban) and Khorne has opened Warp Rifts over worlds with nothing more than his rage. So along with being masters of the Warp, they can affect the Materium.
The others are frankly fairly irrelevant, and don't actually alter anything about the present setting in any significant way. Most races were always afraid of death. The Nightbringer was just the reason.

That is a problem with the writing of Chaos. Not the Necrons.
The Necrons had a grand design, but were far from completing it. Every race (Besides the Tau) has its "I Win" doomsday scenario that might happen. The Tyranids never stop pouring in and consume everything, the Eldar create a Death God to not give a gak about anything, the Orks all unite,

Compare to now, where the Necrons could destroy Terra with a push of a button.

The Emperor was never "beaten" by an Ork. An Ork tried to strangle him. After the Emperor took a plasma battery fusillade to the face.
Tried to? He actually was in the process of it till Horus chopped off his arm, apparently the Emperor can't beat back an Ork with a fist around his throat?
"On the Ork infested planet of Gorro, Horus repaid the debt by hacking the arm from a huge frenzied greenskin as it struggled to choke the Emperor's life out of him."
The Eldar, Imperium, and Chaos can also farsee, so I fail to see how them being able to see the future makes them Sues.
All of which can be blocked by the Necron's Anti-Warp Technology due to the fact they rely on Psykers to do so. Being able to see time in a non-linear fashion also means it can't really be blocked because that's just how they see normally.
Quote the page where the Void Dragon was said to manipulate the Emperor. The Emperor, who as we know from Mechanicum, defeated the Void Dragon in a battle.
Mmm, I'll have to find my book of Mechanicum, it was one of the Discussions with the Guardians, though I vaguely remember that the Guardian mentioned the reason the Dragon was weakened was due to his battles with his own kin, which left him weakened and so he hid on Terra.
The Chaos Gods have created Warp Storms at planets and obliterated them (Caliban) and Khorne has opened Warp Rifts over worlds with nothing more than his rage. So along with being masters of the Warp, they can affect the Materium.
The first I remember being called when Luther had his 'scream in the warp' to them, and yes they could afflict it. Though when Khorne suddenly takes up his axe, goes down to a planet and suddenly starts killing off the entire planet let me know. Not to mention all these could easily be stopped by the Warp Suppression Pylons. At least before the "Crimson Path" thought came to mind which requires Abbadon and his plans...
The others are frankly fairly irrelevant, and don't actually alter anything about the present setting in any significant way. Most races were always afraid of death. The Nightbringer was just the reason.
It's both silly, and the fact we've seen plenty of orks being afraid to die makes it a 'What the heck' sort of quote to add to the influence and powers of the Nightbringer.
The Necrons had a grand design, but were far from completing it. Every race (Besides the Tau) has its "I Win" doomsday scenario that might happen. The Tyranids never stop pouring in and consume everything, the Eldar create a Death God to not give a gak about anything, the Orks all unite,
Except unlike the others, The Tyranids could be killed, splinter fleets have been destroyed. Necrons never took a personal battle and actually lost. Because they'll just appear at their tombs and regenerate, and while I might be fuzzy on it, the tombs that were somehow destroyed they teleported to other Tombs nearby. (Not sure on this one)
Compare to now, where the Necrons could destroy Terra with a push of a button.
Yes that one piece of Tech is still silly, but no less then the C'tan simply going to Terra, and killing everyone.

It's like GW thinks that humanity is uninteresting, and that making every character a superhuman will make everything better.
And when superhuman is normal, the add "even more superhuman", and thus the special snowflake was invented "I'm everything you are, +1".
