Orlanth; I'll just say this - I'm beginning to remember why I put you on ignore. Oh, and "Project Fear" was a moniker Better Together devised themselves to label their campaign, then ran a mile from when a journalist spotted it on a document and it became public knowledge. We're done.

I will read this exactly as what it means. Yodhrin cant argue against the points, so bury head in sand instead.
As my point is about how the Independence campaign is willfully sticking its head in the sand and resorting to denial strategy to attempt to neutralise the very real problem that an independent Scotland will have over EU membership I should not be suprised.

As for Project Fear, this comes out of an unsubstantiated rumour printed in the Sunday Herald where apparently some people in the Better Together campaign called their movement 'Project Fear'.

Wikipaedia wrote:On 23 June 2013, in an article marking the campaign's first anniversary, the Sunday Herald claimed that "Privately, some inside Better Together even refer to the organisation as Project Fear".[25] The name "Project Fear" subsequently appeared in other news outlets[26][27] and was co-opted by pro-independence campaigners.[28] The following line of the Sunday Herald's article said that "[Blair] McDougall is unrepentant about the tactics", but on the following day's edition of Scotland Tonight McDougall denied ever hearing anyone use the term "Project Fear".[29]

- As the Batter Together campaign leadership have flatly denied this.
- and as using this term would be only of benefit to the SNP.
- and that unlike Yohdrins claim there has been no documentary evidence, though I can see why he would need to claim there is.

Nevertheless Salmond has ran with this, used the 'project fear' label repeatedly in speeches at the party conference and encourages his stooges to do so also (without thinking too much about it). We can put this one to bed as yet more SNP propaganda. The Independence campaign don't need to tell the truth so long as people realise they are lied to only after they are hoodwinked into voting yes. By then it will be too late.

I write this for anyone else following the thread Yodhrin probably wont see this if he has placed me on ignore, that doesn't matter, one needs an open mind to listen.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

No, I am saying that you have some very strange ideas about Scotland's nationality.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

I say just replace the blue background with the Welsh green. Any new flag needs to retain a visual similarity with the old one.

If / when Scotland does go independent, I'll have a good chuckle if they decide to immediately hand it over it over to the EU (that is, if Spain and all the other EU countries fighting off their own seccessionist movements permit Scotland to join).

I'm also very amused by Salmond's dithering and half measures. Apparently he wants to keep...

-the British Stirling and the Bank of England as lender of last resort (don't we English/N.Irish/Welsh get a say in that?)

-the BBC (I don't care as long as Scotland still pays the TV Licence like we do)

-denying free University education to us English yet at the same time grant free Education to other "Foreign EU Nationals"...With Scotland independent and in the EU, won't we English also be Foreign EU Nationals?

Its like what he wants is Independence-lite, yet he wants to hang on to some perks of UK membership and expects us to bail Scotland out in the event its economy goes tits-up, whilst simultaneously going out of his way to spite us English.

Although, please do correct me if I'm wrong - its been a while since I heard those things...In fact its been a while since I've cared at all actually. With the EU eroding everyone's National Sovereignty, the question of Scottish indepence seems (for now) mostly irrelevant.

Oh, and might as well state my position. I don't want the UK to break up, but as a Libertarian and believer in the democratic right to self determination, if Independence is what the Scottish want then thats their right and I wish them good luck. Heck, I'd be in favour of "Devo-max" if it meant an end to the West Lothian crap, the end to Scottish whining and public spending being rebalanced in favour of England where the vast majority of UK Immigration is taking effect.

Considering how out of touch Labour, the Tories and the Lib Dems are, I can't blame Scotland for wanting to sever all ties with Westminster. Hell as a Northerner I'd like to sever all ties from all 3 Westminster parties.
