Grav guns have salvo. So, how do you use them on a vehicle? Do you just use the stationary profile like you would with a heavy weapon? Or would you use that only if the vehicle didn't move (using the normal profile if it did)?

Edit: Salvo, not volley. Don't know how I got that mixed up. :/

Yes, and one would assume that such would extend to salvo as well as heavy. I'm just wondering if it should or if that would be beardy?

I'd just make them heavy weapons at that point

Okay. I've been talking with some friends and there are a couple of thoughts on this. Relentless certainly affects salvo as KhorneDawg pointed out, but the range if the Centurion's gun is pretty weak for a Predator at 24". I'm thinking that the maximum range of a Predator's turrent mounted grav weapon should be at 36" to put in in the same league as the other variants. Five graviton shots on the move at that range is pretty rough, though, so how to mitigate this without nerfing the unit into obsolescence?

One idea is to use both numbers as normal, one for a moving vehicle and the other for stationary. It would keep this Predator variant from being too OP for the price of the graviton gun.

Is this reasonable? Unnecessary? Is there a better idea to mitigate the increase in range?

Yeah don't increase the range, it would just be a close shooting vehicle, 5 grav shots can really ruin a units or models day.

If you want come up with a 4th grav weapon that is 30" range with 3 or 4 shots that only can be mounted on vehicles. Call it a grav blaster or something

Yeah...it's kinda like that.

Playtest it. I was thinking that it could use a Grav Amp if it didn't move (the idea being that it needs to focus the amp or something), and that changing how Salvo works for vehicles is unnecessary. Also, remember that a Vindicator is Str10 AP1* Large Blast at 24" (although costing quite a bit more), and that Predators aren't exactly the hardiest of tanks.

I really don't think it would be OP. Opponents will be wary of it, and ensure they keep units vulnerable to it away. In actuality, the Grav-Pred would probably function more as a fire magnet/shepherd than as direct damage. People are afraid of graviton weapons, and this thing is going to be seriously saturated in highest-available-strength firepower the moment it gets in range. Because of that, I would neither increase the range of the gun nor its points cost.

Congratulations, you have just given birth to the very first "Scary Rhino". It exists to be scary. The Night Lords would be proud.

EDIT: *AP2! I think my brain went on autopilot as soon as it got "S10 AP" down...

One of the main strengths of grav-centurions of their grav-amp. against their preferred targets, they'll be re-rolling that 2+ to-wound roll.
