Vulkan was tortured mercilessly for months, Horus was blasted to ash by his father, Dorn saw his beloved father die, Sanguinius has his spine smashed by a demon and was murdered shortly afterwards,....
You were born in an age of plenty, when even the poorest are well fed, and you get to watch movies and sit behind a
PC in a nice warm house while you eat cheetos....
It just doesn't seem fair.
Russ had it pretty nice though. He got to be king, he got to kick ass and make up awesome stories, and after that he would have awesome parties with lots of mead and he probably got all the girls as well.
Also, no one ever mentions the billions of imperial citizens that live quiet lives of plenty on quiet, nice, remote civilized worlds. There could very well be worlds with an even better standard of live than Scandinavia has.
Especially in the US
