Saw this on the BBC website this morning and couldn't believe that someone actually sat down and worked it all out. Bond, you are a drunk.

Bruins fan till the end.

Never assume anything, it will only make an ass of you and me.

And this is news how?
Fleming wrote the character as a drunk in the original books.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Not so much a drunk... but I always got the impression that as a secret agent type, he was in such phenominal physical shape that he could really get away with his level of consumption. They have also completely glossed over how much the guy smoked.

I don't think Bond has a hard on for Burt Reynolds the way Dutchess, I mean Archer, does.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I started laughing when they said "he might be practicing safe sex after all".

See, you're trying to use people logic. DM uses Mandelogic, which we've established has 2+2=quack. - Aerethan

I must admit I laughed when I read this in the paper on the bus this morning. There are two tragedies here as far as I can see:

A) the fact someone was sad enough to work this out.
B) the fact they actually needed a study to work this out.

Coming soon, a study I conducted to prove that 1145% of the stunts in the James Bond novels are physically impossible. This study led me to the conclusion that he IS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER, for crying out loud!

I dunno how much of a study this is. I know some scientist types and this is the sort of thing they do for fun on their lunchbreaks.

I read it, had a laugh, and am currently drinking a martini. Which was stirred, not shaken. Well, kinda swished around after pouring the vermouth/gin into a juice glass. No points for presentation tonight.

Cheers, 007!

P.S. Don't bother with blue cheese stuffed olives. Not worth it. Garlic is worth it though.

There's actually a German physics professor (Prof. Metin Tolan) who gave a fun lecture and wrote a book about the physics of Bond's stunts
He also did something like that on Star Trek stuff and possible football flight trajectories.

I just recently tried making a Vesper.. well, really it was the James Bond (as apparently the "official" recipe for the Vesper calls for garnish of orange peel, not lemon)... And I've no idea if I was using the wrong ingredients, or my mixing skills are not up to par, but both my wife and I found it undrinkable.....
