Just some of my most recent work. I don't actually own a CSM force yet, but hopefully this guy is the first of many traitorous forces to join my daemon army. Same goes for Cato and some ultramarines. While there is some obvious damage to the resin cast on the apostle, I was hoping to play it off as battle damage or hide it with painting. C&C always appreciated!
I just realized only now how smug this model looks. Then again it is Sicarius.

I can“t pin down the exact reason why but your faces look a little blotchy.
On the other hand the writing on the scribes & seals looks very nice with all the red runes on it.

Thanks. I did notice that. Sicarius actually doesn't look like that to the naked eye. I may have up'd the contrast a little too much on that one. The sorcerer/apostle on the other hand, was me trying a different way to paint a pale flesh. Didn't work out as well as I'd like, but it's also not bad enough for me to go back and risk redoing it. I plan on getting some of those FW noise marines so hopefully by then I have a plan down to paint the skin how I'd like. Until then his face looks good from arms length and across a table.

The Slaaneshi symbol at the top of the staff is a great counterpoint to the kill-claw. Nicely done

Awesome conversion on the aostle, but it looks like youre applying your paints a little thick, maybe watering down just a little will give your models a smoother finish. Otherwise really solid work on both dudes!

Hmm, I could see that being the case on Cato. He was a repaint from a stripped metal fig. As for the apostle, if you're talking about the kind of chalky look he's got in terms of armor highlights, that's more of a personal technique/preference? I don't feel I'm very good at wet blending so I go for multiple passes of ascending color on drybrush. If anything you'll notice the highlighting is different between the two models. Cato I finished about a month ago, the apostle just recently so I guess I was experimenting a bit in terms of how I do my highlights. Ultimately, I like the grittier version of the apostle a bit more.
