Walmart paint brushes.
Dollar store "cheapo" craft paints
Krylon spray primer/paint combo

These are my very first mini's and I would like some input. Stick with what I'm doing, or change some things?
These models are not sealed. I plan to seal them with a matte varnish and then hand paint a high gloss varnish onto the lenses/ shiny bits.
The bases are painted to look like concrete, they are not that white in real life. Sorry for the bad pics.

They look great. Good job.

They look superb. If I can give some varnish advice though: generally, Matt varnish doesn't give as much protection as gloss. You'd be better hitting them with gloss varnish, then dull coat, then painting the lenses etc.

Adds another step (and another cost), but worth it in my opinion.

They'd look good even if they weren't your first squad. The only piece of advice I'd give you is maybe paint the rims of the bases an other colour as it makes it look like the bases aren't finished yet.

Good job. Darn nice minis!

I know the bases are not that white IRL, but if they look like I think they look one suggestion is to ink them. It will go in the crevices and give them some contrast.

I am going to second the motion to ink the bases. Other than that, looks great! I've been playing Tau for some time, and STILL can't get Sept markings as neat as yours.

I second this, it was the first thing that came to my mind when I looked at them. Do the lower rim in black to frame the model. Nice work.
