Subject: CSM v Tau 1250? Would this work? At all?

Okay, lol this should be funny.
1 Demon Prince
w/ wings, pa, black mace, MoK
1 Chaos Lord
w/ Murdersword, Plasma p, sigil, MoK
2x Khorne Berzerkers (8 man squads)
w/ 2 plasma pistols, 3 chainaxes, Champ 1 has p.sword, Champ 2 has p.fist
1 Chosen (7 models)
w/ whatever the DV set of Chosen come with.
and what the heck
1 Vanilla Rhino
Now take this list and imagine it going up against your typical Tau suit army, with a Riptide.
How do you think it will play out?
Humour me.
Or rather, what would actually be able to take on Tau at 1250?

Use chosen fom dv set as champions. That will hive you points to get dirge casting rhinos even though they can easily destroy it.

Yeah...
This was more of a joke/ proof of theory than an actual list. Perhaps this belongs in tactics, but whatever.

Yeah, that riptide wont let your murder sword lord walk up to it in a rhino and chop its knees off...just throw him in a drop pod. Oh wait, Chaos Marines forgot how to use drop pods when they became EVAILLLLLLLL
Land raider? But thats 230 points....ugh

Forget MoK on the Deamon Prince. Take MoS! Try to get Psychic Shriek! It's on telepathy I think.

If you get lucky with a list like this against Tau it may even take him until turn 4 to table you. Trying to walk across the board into combat with Tau is a quick way to die. Having a solo Rhino is just giving your opponent FB for nothing.
At this point level you need 2 Landraiders full of death to stand a chance. Something like this:
Daemon Prince: Wings, PA, Tzeentch, mace 265
10 Khorne Marines: power fist, chainswords 185
10 Khorne Marines: power fist, chainswords 185
Landraider 230
Landraider 230
2 Nurgle Obliterators 156
Prince sits behind the LRs out of LoS. Trundle up 18" turn 1. Tau really struggle with AV14 so turn 2 unload death in his face.

I play both CSM and Tau, and I think the Tau would probably win. Most of your units are close-combat, and with the Tau Jet Packs they probably wouldn't get close before having tons of models getting picked off.
