This is my first time venturing out to my FLGS for a league. Actually, my first game against' someone that wasn't my roommate was in the league two Fridays ago. Needless to say, I got my butt handed to me and I have a lot to learn and would really appreciate some help with my next list.
I play Black Templars for the league, by the way, and here's the list I'm wanting to try out next:
Captain - Artificier Armour, Relic Blade - 135 pts
15 man Crusader Squad 250 points

Your list looks good.....for a regular 40K game. This is an escalation league, right? Expect to see all kinds of strength "D" weapon shenanigans. Which will wreck your face faster than a guardsman can go to ground. LOL If you can't get your hands on a super heavy (recommended), then your next best option is a void shield relay network. This will give you (3) 12" bubbles of protection from the ridiculous onslaught of firepower that an escalation army can bring.
Just as an example, I'm working on a 2000 point escalation army right now, CSM with Deamon allies and just the first salvo alone would kill 2/3 of your army on the first turn. (2) S "D" blasts, (15) S 6 AP 3 shots (that's just from the titan), (8) S 8 AP 4 hades rounds (pinning), (1) S 10 AP 2 Demolisher cannon round (large blast), and (1) S 8 AP 5 Skull cannon round (ignores cover, dreadskulls, large blast). These are the things that you should look out for in an escalation game. You've been warned. lol

Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |

No, sorry not escalation as the Super heavies. This Escalation league is an escalation in points. We started at 1000 points, played that for a few weeks, and now were playing 1500 point lists for a few weeks. We'll then play a few weeks at 1850 before we have an 1850 tournament

Hmm, Black templar like CC and short ranged shooting so i would do 2 chaplins 2 squads of 20 crusaders 10 initiaits and 10 neophyts all with 2 CCWS (chaplins go here), 3 vindicators and some storm talons for aa.

Thanks you. I really want to do at least 1 full 20 man Crusader squad, but as of yet I only have 5 Neophytes :/ And I'm actually working on more Assault Termies, to come stampeding out of my Land Raider, once I get my Crusader Squad built up to where they can't ride around in it anymore. Thank you for your advice

I honestly think that maybe Assault Centurions with the Chaplin or Chapter master with Shield in a LR would be quite the awesome sight to see. Also, I think a storm raven would also make a terrifying addition to this list.
