Hello and merry Christmas to everyone!

I was lucky enough to receive Lorgar's model today, and after seeing he could choose any power from telepathy with his upgrade, I was hit by the idea of casting Terrify against another Primarch.

However, this rose a question to which I am unsure of. Can a model with Eternal Warrior be destroyed in a sweeping advance or is it simply locked in combat once again?

Apologies if this is an obvious answer and I simply overlooked it in my excitement.

Yes, as SA does not inflict wounds. Models just get removed.

It addition, the sweeping advance rules specifically say special rules which would otherwise prevent the removal of the models do not work against sweeping advances. (unless they specifically reference it, which eternal warrior does not)

So yep, your EW model is out of luck.

Eternal Warrior only protects against the Instant Death rule.
Sweeping advance doesn't cause this.

I am sorry to pop some of your bubble. Terrify does not remove ATSKNF, which allows models to survive SA. Most SM HQs have that. Those that don't only need one other marine with them to have the rule (all other marines have it) and they benefit from it.

Yet! Wait till the legion of the true Regent get done. The Ultramarines know no fear!

But yes this is a valid tactic for Lorgar, good luck winning combat against a proper Primarch with that poetry reading douchebag.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

You only sweeping advance after winning combat, and you only win combat by causing more wounds.

So once you've reached the movement phase you cannot sweeping advance.

You would simply consolidate.

This tactic can work but will still require you to win combat.
