Hello dakka, it seems that quick reply has been temporarily disabled due to a warning from a moderator, I'm confused because I have never used that function, explain?

*Insert witty and/or interesting statement here*

Quick reply isn't disabled based on personal usage, it is instead disabled to dissuade people from making any further quick, spammy comments.

It's amazing just how much spam can be avoided simply by forcing someone to click an extra button in order to post a comment.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

It's the text box at the bottom of the page.

I never paid attention to the quick reply. Even though it has always been there looking at me. I always make it a point to use the actual reply function as it makes your post easier to read before hitting submit.
I didnt know it was possible to disable the quick reply box. I may have to see if there is a way for us to manually turn it off ourselves so it isnt taking up space slowing down the page loading.

I also never use quick reply because I use the tag buttons up top.

There is no way to turn it off yourself.

It isn't slowing down your page load by any amount that you would be able to perceive.

This is a question for someone that uses quick reply a lot...

When you receive a warning from a moderator, how long until your Quick Reply privileges are reinstated?

Asking for a friend >_>

It depends on the level of warning, doesn't it?

What is the default? Other than for Major Tom, as it is well known that he simply drives to the offender's house and shatters their posting hand with a ball peen hammer.

Lucky I've never been warned by MT. That's also by 'baiting hand.

So that's why they call it "quick" reply.
