The Apocalypse formation "Emperor's Children" lets a Chaos Lord take a Doom Siren as an additional weapon. I've built a model with the following wargear:

Chaos Lord - Mark of Slaanesh
Power Armour, Bolt Pistol, Krak/frag Grenades, Doom Siren, Black Mace
Gift of Mutation, Sigil of Corruption

I did this due to the clarification that took almost a year to be accepted that models could only swap ONE weapon for a Chaos Artifact, and only ONE. I had originally built this lord to have both the Black Mace and the Burning Brand of Skalathrax. This made for a very powerful boost to the unit he leads, usually Emperor's Children. I then decided on the Doom Siren to give him back most of the power of the previous build, except for +1S and no Torrent.

Do you think this is too much to ask an opponent to allow? My group tends to think it is just fine, but we know it is just a house rule. What do you all think?

Chaos is the only sanity left.

Does the conversion look plausible? If yes, and you price it appropriately (15-20 points or something) then I would not doubt a second to allow it.

The Doom Siren is 10 points in the Apocalypse Formation, double that of a flamer. The model looks pretty cool I think, with gargoyle heads mounted to tubes out of the backpack.

As long as you meet the other requirements for the Apoc formation then yea, its legit. But you can't cherry pick beneficial rules and ignore others, its all or nothing.

Well, there is the rub. It is very hard to satisfy the Apoc Formation and play in a game under 2000 points. The list is:
1 Chaos Lord or Lucius the Eternal
3+ Troops
2+ Elites

I can manage:
The Chaos Lord
1 Chaos Space Marines x10
1 Cultists x10-30
1 Noise Marines x15
1 Warp Talons x10
1 Chosen x5
1 Chosen x10

It all depends on the rule of "Chaos Lord with MoS makes Noise Marines Troops" in the standard of 40K. If so, it all fits, though barely any upgrades. I can always decrease the number of models to fit the points I guess.

If in a situation of just a house rule, like my friends and I have, where custom characters instead of named characters are welcome, do you think that the Doom Siren is broken any more than the rules of a named character? Except for the Doom Siren, the Lord is stock and legal. I would be using this character instead of Lucius, who does come with a Doom Siren.

I will admit I haven't seen the data sheet. But why is 3 troop choices and 2 elites hard to fit in at 2k? You should have no issue at all fitting in 3 small noise marine squads instead of 1 big 15 man one. And then two chosen squads or terminator suicide squads or whatever. You could probably fit the entire data sheet in under 1k points.

When in doubt burn it, then burn yourself for doubting.
