Theres a RTT coming up at my local FLGS and figures I would try out a bakery for once but since I love it so I took my royal court because they are modeled so goofy looking. Any advice is helpful, I probably could have optimised the court a bit more than it is.
HQ
Trazyn the Infinite
Chronotek with Cloak (had an extra 30 points)
Veiltek
5 Lords with MSS, scythe, weave, shifter
1 Orb, 1 Tesseract
TROOPS
5X 5 warriors w/ NS
Fortifications
ADL W/ comms
Its pretty simple but I could probably have saved points on upgrades for the court and the ADL may not be necessary since it is only for the comms to get the fliers in from reserves.

Good list, but you have a lot of points outside the game. Imagine you play 2nd. the enemy has 2 rounds to whipe your army before the NS arrive. Then there is always a1 with a 1 reroll (comms).

Good luck wiping out a unit with majority toughness T5 front lined by 5 models with Sv2+/3++ and EL with a RP roll of 4+ that has a free re-roll each phase...

If I play second good for me, then I can make a deepstrike move in front of my opponent instead of waiting out my t1 behind a big rock.
Im starting to think the adl should be dropped but im not sure what to take instead of it, stormtek with field? Also maybe a transmogtek with crucible was something I was considering

Okay. Gotcha. I think it's a pretty poor list competitively, or even for fun. The royal court can't deep strike and then assault. I can't see why (with their appalling movement) anyone would let you get all that stuff into combat with them?) at 1850 points you can easily have five flyers and 18 wraiths. Three units that can all move 12 and assault. Very hard to hide from. I'm sure you are doing it more for fun, but even then the best Wombo combo with Crypteks is either a court if destructed behind the aegis (with long range high strength shots) and, potentially a buffed overlord tanking, or else the deathmark/despairtek thing.
If it's just for fun and you aren't bothered about being competitive - go for it.

I feel ya, its like the list wasn't trying to use the bog standard and boring wraithwing/bakery comp that is copy/pasted everywhere

Care to elaborate on that a bit more? So far I haven't ran into a situation where the RC wasnt being great at its job besides one game where it got caught by a screamerstar (my fault I didnt know how to aproach one and let it assault me) and it got wiped due to poor reanimation rolls and great mss rolls by him.

Sigh.... Be original by all means, I'm just pointing out that this list is not as competitive as those often taken at this level. I used the common list as a yard stick, not a prescription.
You could take 12 acanthrites, an EXTENSIVE scarab farm, deathmark and despairtek wing or any number of better options in a tournament environment than five single wound units with a six inch move and no shooting.
Sorry if that's a cliche.

Ya but I'm looking for ways to improve my RC list, not a list of things to take instead, I love fielding my RC I find it fun and can tackle most units. This is just for a local RTT, I don't need an adepticon winning army where the stock wraithwing and bakery is required. I would appreciate ways to improve the list and not a bunch of lists that are better that I'm not interested in.
Back on topic, I have been considering dropping the adl and taking one of each cryptek each with the charge denying wargear (crucible, GoF, field). Or two small groups of 4 scarabs for harrassment but this would be easy FB for the opponent if they cant hide anywhere till I get FB. Wpuld this idea be better? Automatically Appended Next Post: And also dropping the tesseract on a lord and cloak on the chronotek because those upgrades arent needed Automatically Appended Next Post: Another option I have been considering is dropping the tesseract, cloak, adl and a shifter from a lord to pick up another group of warriors in a NS

Your RCDI looks pretty standard (I've seen scissor builds like that bulldoze their way through several paper armies until they come up against a rock army).
As far as changes go, yeah, the TS Cloak, Tes.Lab., etc. can all be dropped. But instead of a Nightscythe, how about a Ghost Ark? That way you can drop a Cryptek to make the unit 10, get them all inside, and now you've got extra protection AND an assault transport! (open topped, after all).
Also, have you considered using a shooty RCDI? (everyone using Staff of Light). As long as you don't face too many TEQs, they would mop the floor with anything they got within 12" of.

Thanks for that help, I never considered a ghost instead of a NS but I like the idea of it, although it would make my RC more reliant on a tank that can be killed by one stray melta for mobility instead of being self sufficient with a veiltek (I would need to swap the veiltek out for a cheaper tek to get that 15 extra points for the GA). I like the idea of the GA I'm just not sure it is worth making the unit more hit or miss since it will lack self sufficiency in the mobility aspect which is already its weakest area. I'll playtest it this weekend and see which I prefer.
I have used shooty RC and I have found them to be lackluster im my meta since they basically either kill a unit of marines and get charges by hammernators then sit there confused since they used to have power weapons on those old sticks (3rd ed cron reference). Or they end up wasting shots against geq behind ADLs. I have found that the warcythes tend to bring a binger scissors in my meta since CC still holds alot of power with flying circuses, hound rush, and other daemon lists along with ork BW rush filled with boyz ready to charge.
I dont mean to sound stubborn with my list making by shooting down ideas left and right and pointing out the negatives I am just in a negative mood right now (I got lady troubles ).
Anyways I appreciate the advice and I will certainly consider that GA idea and see if I cant drop off an MSS somewhere instead of swapping outthe veiltek so it is still sustainable after the GA blows

The Party Bus™ usually works out pretty well for a choppy RCDI.
Definitely makes them more of a threat, in that they can get into assault much faster with it.
If you're going to drop anyone so all the party members can get in, it's not going to be an easy choice:
• drop the Overlord/a Lord and you'll be missing that extra pair of MSS.
• drop the Despair-tek and you lose your mobility after you lose your bus (plus, Nightmare Shroud can be devastating against low Ld units).
• drop the Storm/Destruct/Tremor-tek and you lose assault defense capability.
• drop the Chrono-tek and... no, don't drop the Chrono-tek.
I'd say if anyone had to give up their spot on the bus, let it be the Overlord. Reason being, he can take a CCB, so can keep up with the bus (and then jump out and join the unit when they're ready to assault), but can also be a major threat all by itself.

I think were getting a bit confused with what we see the list as currently, right now I am using the list at the OP. Right now I could drop an MSS and grab a GA and only have 4 NS. Or I could drop all the excess upgrades, an ADL, a shifter, and an MSS for an extra 5 warriors with a GA to get a party bus of 8 guys (5 lords, 2 crypteks, trazyn). Alternatively I could drop those same upgrades minus the MSS to get the 3 missing crypteks but I would have no GA unless I drop an MSS and swap out one of my NS for one. Right now I am liking the idea of the 8 man party bus since I can still keep the bakery at 5 without any major loss of durability or damage in my list.

I just don't get how a veiltek works with an assault unit. I'm curious how you get close enough to anything to ever get to assault with it unless you are facing a static gunline? Think the party bus sounds like a much better idea.

You would be suprised at how easy it is to deepstrike in and run 4-6 inches towards your target then next turn move in for the assault (usually t2) most armies arent mobile enough to outrun a unit like this, usually the oppoment gets cornered or stuck against terrain or simply cant move fast enough to outrun them. Not everything in this game is on a bike or in a serpent and this unit excels at taking out those types of units, any CC beast I need to worry about can come to the court on its own and get MSS to death. I have never really ran into a situation where the RC didnt reach its intended target besides a game against a farsight enclave with suits everywhere but while they were running away from the RC the rest of my army picked them apart. Usually I know which targets I can get to and which ones will scoot away so I go after the ones that are slower and will get picked off by the court while the rest of my army takes out the units that the RC cant catch

That's very interesting. I guess because I play Necrons myself I am used to a particular style of play that is very mobile. I probably avoid strategies that rely on random elements too much (like scatter dice).
Maybe I'm too used to avoiding combat with everything bar my wriathses too!
I'd be very curious to see this in action. Have done any battle reports with this type of unit?

Whatever you do, don't drop any MSS. They're too valuable (simultaneously both defensive and offensive wargear).
If I was trying to run this list, I'd see if it would be possible to run the Party Bus with Tarzan the Incontinent, 5 combat Lords (Wasrscythe, MSS, 2+/3++, one with Orb), a Storm-tek (nothing), the Chrono-tek (yes chronometron, no Cloak), and Despair-tek (both Veil and Shroud). Five units of 5 Warriors (4 with Nightscythes, 1 with Ghost Ark... four NS are fine). The final remaining points I would invest in an ADL + Comms.
Warriors get out of the bus and hug the ground behind the ADL, RCDI gets in, motors off to party hard. Scythes start coming in turn 2.
End of the game, guys start stepping out of their French baked goods, Tarzan's team teleports next to an objective.
Should be good.

Actually, I used the 10 points left over to give the Despair-tek a Nightmare Shroud. Between doing damage to potential assaulters and potentially forcing entire units to run off the table, I went with the wargear which I have had more success with. But the Lightning is good, too.

I've never used the nightmare ahroud before but I like the idea of being able to basically remove that squad of markerlights just by saying so, I'll have to take that option over the lightning field since anyone who realistically charges a RCDI with 6 MSS is silly
