Hi Guys this is an army list i put together using the models i have, it is my first IG army and haven't played any games yet.
i still have a Basilisk another sentinel and heaps more troops that aren't on the list.
For 1000pts i was hoping to get the most bang for my buck, so what do you think?
i was planning on combining the infantry squads into one blob.

If you're going blob, then I would recommend taking the same heavy weapon for all infantry squad, so you won't loose effectiveness of the weapons (mortars are not that good against vehicle for example)
Also, one of your squads would need a vox, as both the officer squad and the troop must have one for them to get the re-roll.
I would recommend getting Marbo, for 65 pts he's a steal and damn useful.
Lascannons on a demolisher might be wasted points, since it can only fire snap shots if you fire the ordnance weapon.

marbo may not be worth it he is 65pts for a large blast template realistically.
because a lr is a heavy vechile then it can fire all weapons normally

Couple of things:
PCS that has Autocannon, flamer x2 and a vox is wrong. You have a platoon commander which doesnt take any of those upgrades. but then you have 4 guardsmen 2 go towards each of the flamers and that last 2 go towards the autocannon and then your out of guardsmen so technically you cant have the vox.
Also the squad receiving the order and giving the order requires a vox to get the reroll. So then if you are blobbing up then you only need one vox in the command squad and one in one of the squads in the blob.
If you do blob try to keep all the infantry squads the same so that the whole blob works the same. for heavy weapons stick with autocannons or lascannons. For special weapons I would stick with plasma guns, melta guns, or flamers but I would stick with meltas. Then maybe add melta bombs on the sergeants or even add power axes.
I would drop the hunter killers on the sentinels for now and then use the points to give the CCS a standard since your running foot guard. The regimental standard is pretty important.
Drop the extra armor on the demolisher and the lascannon as they are both pretty much a waste of points.
As for the vanq I would drop the heavy bolter sponsons and I would give it MM's for more anti tank power or add PC's so that is has the chance to do more damage against meq or teq.

cheers for the helpful suggestions, i'm going to have to play around with this a bit.
Unfortunately my sentinels already came with HK glued on and my vanquisher with bolters. i'll try to remove carefully.
Are grenade launchers and mortars worth it at all? they look cool and i have them in stock.

Mortars are best when used as a heavy weapon team hiding behind terrain and out of sight holding an objective. Otherwise I wouldnt waste putting them in an infantry squad.
grenade launchers are really poor and are kinda a waste of points if your staying cheap then sure go ahead but I prefer plasma guns and melta guns.

So with the Vanquisher should i remove the lascannon or is it allowed to shoot with the main turret.

He can show up anywhere for one, not to mention he'll either draw fire off your main force for a turn or he'll live and be a large pain with his AP2 sniper pistol, melta bomb, 5-6 attacks in melee...
And yes, they are heavy vehicles, but check the ordinance weapon rule; if you fire an ordnance weapon, every other weapon on the same vehicle can only be fired snap shot.

For the vanquisher you should keep the lascannon on it. the main gun is heavy not ordnance so all weapons may be fired. if anything I always take a lascannon on the vanquisher no matter what as both weapons have a 50% chance of hitting so you will possibly hit at least one of them each turn.
What are you doing with your platoon infantry squads? blobbing or letting them run separately?

If you do that then you need a commissar or an inquisitor. If you dont have either then the blob will run once they take enough hits or they will get over run in combat and it really sucks when you lose a large amount of guardsmen in combat or they run off the board.
