I just finished painting these two today, I think they both turned out very well, but the Big Mek took a lot of time to paint. They both belong in my KoS warband, which is my second 40K army.

What do you think?

Love them all. Nice solid paint job.
Next I'd suggest doing some edge highlighting, and then some weathering and battle damage.

You are right, I should do some more highlighting. My problem is that when I finally get to that stage, I think the model is finished, and I stop painting. I'm also worried that it's going to take too long for an entire Ork army, but the results would probably be worthwhile. Luckily, highlights can be added afterwards when I get the time.

Well for my orks what I do is; Keep the paint jobs on the boyz squads down to a minimum, then any larger or units I feel deserve particular attention - warboss, Meganobz etc.. They get the full shibang.

That way i have a decent tabletop standard for the large bulk of my ork force that doesn't actaully take a rediculous amount of time per model. Then for my HQs and vehicles I have a more dedicated look that I can show off with.

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

That Big Mek with SAG is quite a model, I like your scheme!

Yeah, I try to do that myself, but I end up having quite high standards for even my basic Boyz, which makes for very slow progress on the army as a whole, since I don't have that much time to paint. At least the end result is very nice, but painting up an army takes years for me.

Thanks, I really appreciate your feedback. I tried to keep the color scheme very close to that of my army (as you can see on the Boy), without making the model look too plain.
