Subject: Interesting command squad tactics.

So ive been trying to get a list going where i can take full advantage of Sicarius (i love the model, and my Ultras are painted in 2nd company) and ive decided on using tank hunters on a 5 man tact squad with a combimelta / meltagun in a drop pod to really get some anti tank, as well as taking a lot of tacticals and scouts to take advantage of his better leadership . Then i brainstormed about what to do with sicarius, and whether or not he should have a command squad. Ive decided to try the ultra cheap and very powerful idea of a command squad in a drop pod with 5 flamers. It seems like a bit overkill but you're pretty much guaranteed to kill whatever you touch and they come in at the same cost of sternguard without combi weapons. Plus no one will want to assault them, and being marines they should be able to soak up some fire, and being veterans tehy still have CC + Pistol and 2 base attacks so you can still dish out some pain. What do you guys think?

I run a command squad with 4 flamers, apothacary and a librarian in a razorback or rhino. It has alot of success taking out large groups as an alpha strike, but tends to get shot to pieces right after. The Feel No Pain helps alot, but still its rare for them to last more than 2 turns. But in those two turns i can usually wipe out 2 squads or more, and made them focus alot of fire at one unit.

The easy one being command squads on bikes with grav guns.
But using them as secondary drop sternguard is nice.

Ive run then as biker grav gunners and everytime my opponent has thrown everything he had at them, also one time i got seized with a lucky orbital strike, so im not sure if its a good thing they get wiped out or not, but its been a bit disparaging.
