Subject: Where do Australians buy GW stuff these days?

Hello all,
Just wondering, where are people buying their GW stuff these days in Australia? Haven't bought anything for a while, last time I used Combat Company, but their GW range is getting thin. I have used Bitz Barn in the past, but shipping took aggges and their range isn't extensive.
So where are people getting stuff these days, or has GW succeeded in cutting off any decent discount sales in Australia?
I just can't bring myself to pay so damned much for miniatures when I know they can be gotten for a fraction of the price internationally.

I have a mate in AUS that buys from ebay. Or, if he wants enough, i will buy locally (uk) and ship out to them - but its not worth it on single pieces due to postage.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

Getting my Eldar from a mate in the UK, personally bought some while I was there on holiday, and otherwise China.
I shop almost everything else from local stores though, mostly Combat Company, because paints, supplies and other games actually have reasonable prices.

Annoyingly I was in the USA up until recently, didn't buy much GW stuff though because my suitcases were already full, lol. Maybe I should ask a friend over there to forward some stuff back, but from memory shipping prices were pretty high.

Mostly just lollipops, I'm more interested in the '15/20% off if you spent $50/$75 this month' vouchers you get as well.
At the rate U buy things there is very little need to ever pay full price.

I saw a site called OzHammer that promises to sell Aussies GW products at ' UK high street prices', whatever that means.

That's not entirely true. While GW did restrict international sales, there are still a few online stores scattered about that sell internationally, and Ebay still works.
For myself, I'm either buying second hand from Ebay, or buying third party stuff (my guard army is being assembled from Victoria Miniatures, with vehicles cobbled together from other sources).

Also, they didn't stop us buying from overseas - they just stopped those stores shipping over here.

There are companies that specialise in having a us address that you can get stuff shipped to and they forward it instead. That's a cheaper option.
