SM are a middle of the road codex, with the most competitive builds being White Scars biker list and Ultramarines Tigarius Centstar. Other lists can work such as Salamander Drop lists or some of the forge world chapter tactics, but need a bit more work put into them. Sure, they won't win a fire fight with Tau or Eldar, bot nowadays who does?

I posted my list all tac squads had flamers and ml scouts had ml and bolters termy one chain fist ac and ml. U was shocked how fast my tac guys dead and my termy my caption and command squad did nothing the hole game i was never able to get near any objectives also flyers just are a pain 2attacks vector strike and then a nother attack on any unit the want

So what you are basically saying is that Space Marines suck because your foot list sucks? Sorry to say, but the list you had ages ago won't be as relevant now because of an evolving meta. Where you using drop pods or did you expect your entire army to foot slog it up the board to the objectives? You don't need land raiders and rhinos but you need some way to get where you need and if you don't like vehicles drop pods do this well. Take a Vulkan drop list and drop a bunch of meltas and flamers into his face, you don't care about flyers because they fly right over you and it can be quite scary for tau to have that many flamers up close.

I'm waiting for him to make sure we all know that he HAD to sell his tyranids because he heard they suck in the new codex.
