Hi guys I am soon to be splashing out on 500+ pounds on forgeworld goodness I was just wondering if there would be any chance of a discount or will they laugh me off the phone ??

Call and find out. However...I highly doubt they'll discount you anything, as anyone buying a titan would be spending well over that with weapons.

Is there any change of you going to give me some of your 500+ pounds or will you laugh me off the phone?

I thought I might be pushing my luck and yea it's closer 500 rather than 600

They give you free shipping above 300 or 250 or whatever it is. That's already a huge discount since if they didn't you'd be paying a gak ton of shipping and all the other weird charges you get for buying from them.

It probably is actually, we don't pay Import duty until we get to $AU1000, but when we do its like a wounded bull I can tell you that.

Also, as tragic as it sounds....500 is prolly not that large of an order...

i just spent around 550GBP with them on friday - hopefully i'll get more than one badge in it

Games Workshop's annual reports have, in the past, bragged about how they do not give away anything for free. This is not the sort of company that does discounts, they have other ways to drive sales.

They're not going to give you a discount for that small of an order, consider that some individual models sell for almost that, or far more. Your purchase is, sorry to say, nothing special.

£500 is roughly an average order, last time I spoke to them about it. So many people club together to avoid the shipping charge., and a reaver costs over that much to start....

Picking things up at WHW is also a good option, as if there is anything out of stock they often cast it for you there and then.

I was going to there for a days gaming Aswel but the main advantage is I can check for miscasts etc I don't trust resin since finecrap has come out

Their resin is not finecast resin, it is much better and their QC is usually much, much better. But checking is good. ALso check the parts list, the revenant we got 5 years ago had two right arms....

Advice is to get there for when WHW opens, and place order. Usually there by 3pm, and as said they can cast up if you want something unusual or just plain out of stock.

Not to say you hAVE to check there - any issues we've had in the past would usually be sorted out ASAP - special delivery everytime for us.

I imagine they will have it all in stock it's mainly HH tactical squads and that kind of stuff

Depends how popular the marks are youre going for, or if a codex release drives up populatrty - no mkIV mortis autocannon arms for ages due to the GK release

It definitely has its uses - get a day of gaming in, mooch around the museum (working out what is next to be released due to their absence, usually ) and have some not bad food and beer at bugmans...

I actually got them some weeks ago. "just" is a bit loose. for RiTides: the other 2k was ina seperate invoice.

Sorry, but you just *happened* to place that huge order the day you joined Dakka. And also just happen to be selling several titans cheap a week after joining.

I've seen this pattern many times, and am highly doubtful that you have any of it.

Pics don't help- they're easily photoshopped or taken from elsewhere. Just be cautious if this person suddenly decides to part with some of their FW haul on the cheap... indeed, as they have already done so!

Just my take- its not what this thread is about. Folks can make up their own minds but again, I've seen this pattern many, many times.

it's a month before if you look at it. And I get a new camera on my birthday next wednesday. I'll happily provide pictures for you.

When my group in Houston got together to make an order, 500 British pound mones wasn't a hard total to pass.

Don't ask for a discount, 500 pounds is not a large order by any means....

Forgeworld are awesome at sorting out problems with orders, they even sorted out a problem with an order I made about five years ago!

Quality control on the smaller things tends to be the more common problem that the bigger items. I've had very few large models that have had problems such as mold slip or awful finish but a fair amount of small stuff (HH mostly) that has been pretty poor. Always best if you can inspect before you buy with Forgeworld, although they are very good at dealing with problems.

And as said £500 isn't that big an order, I think you'd have to break the 5 figure mark before you got their attention.

Two things:

1. It's funny how someone who just placed a $6,000 Forgeworld order does not have a camera. But will be "getting one soon to provide proof"... again, all things we've heard before when people join the forum, and a week later magically have tons of cheap FW items to sell at an unbelievable discount.

2. It's even more interesting that this was your response, when I specifically said that pictures wouldn't matter- they're easy to steal from around the web, as people love showing off their FW hauls.

You'd do much better to establish yourself, start a P&M blog showing the progress of your building said FW creations, than to try to make such claims after just joining. Especially when you just so happen to be offering SEVERAL titans for sale, absurdly cheaply.

I'm calling you out because your posting here was clearly an attempt to legitimize that claim. You just ordered these a month ago and already want to sell some of them... at basically half price? Lol. It's unbelievable at best, and at worst an attempt to rip people off. I'm getting sick of this tactic being tried, it's painfully obvious.

Then you'll have no problem issuing a public apology when i write my name on a piece of paper when I do take photos .
