My demon prince zooms behind a tall ruin. Opponent fires at him and scores a 6. I know that a grounding test is reguired from the hit. But wouldnt i get a cover before the test..being as how the projectile would have bounced off the ruins?

Nope. Cover saves are for wounds, you take a grounding test because of the hit.
Remember, markerlights can ground you.

Grumble, hate the grounding rule. One of the silliest in the game the way its written.

No cover saves, but you can take an invulnerable one.

No you can't.
For the same reason you can't take a cover save.

Finish resolving the shooting attack before making the grounding test.
You would get cover saves against that unit's shooting.
Once the unit has completed shooting, if it scored any hits, then make a grounding test.
If you are wounded for being grounded, it allows for only inv saves.

Resolve Hits
If hits are made grounding test is made
If Grounding test is failed invuln may be taken against the grounding test damage
Resolve wounds
Resolve saves
Absolutely not. Grounding tests happen after resoving the shots. Page 49, not even something that has been errata'ed or something ...
