Hi, thanks for checking this out. There are two main lists presented here to compare and contrast. Not sure on exact compositions or chapter tactics yet, so your assistance would be appreciated.

List 1
HQ
Chapter Master (bike, the Shield Eternal, Thunder hammer) 230pts

Troops
Bike Squads (3x 5 man)
1- 2x flamers 115pts
2- 2x meltas 125pts
3- 2x grav guns 135pts

Tactical Squads (4x 5 man, each with a rhino)
1- melta 115pts
2- grav 120pts
3- plas 120pts
4- plas 120pts

Fast Attack
Stormtalon Gunship (TL LC) 140pts

Heavy Support
Stormraven Gunship (TL LC, TL melta) 200pts

Centurion Devastator Squad (omniscope, 2x TL LC, GC, 3x ML) 290pts

Predator Annihilator 140pts

List 2
HQ
Captain (bike, storm shield, power sword) 140pts
Command Squad (bikes, Apothecary, 4x plasma guns) 210pts

Troops
Bike Squad (5 man, 2x flamers) 115pts
Bike Squad (5 man, 2x grav guns) 135pts

Tactical Squads 4x(5 man, rhino)
1-flamer 110pts
2-melta gun 115pts
3-melta gun 115pts
4-grav gun 120pts

Elites
Ironclad Dreadnought (drop pod) 170pts

Fast Attack
Stormtalon Gunship (TL LC) 140pts

Heavy Support
Stormraven Gunship (TL LC, TL MM) 200pts
2x Predator Annihilators 280pts

Both are 1850pts on the nose. My local meta involves a lot of marines as well as the ever present tau and eldar. Necrons, chaos space marines and daemons are around as well. As such there's a wide variety of things my list needs to deal with. I'm working towards playing tournaments with it (not that I think I'll win), so consistency would help me there too. I have kept things pretty lean to enable multiple small units to fit into the list. I'm told armour works best in larger numbers, hence the inclusion of so many rhinos and the predators.

As far as list variations go: I have a lot of scouts and terminators in every flavour, a couple more dreads and pods, and the option to razorback all the rhinos. I can change up a few bikes with attack side-cars and I have a full land speeder squadron and a land speeder storm. There are a few squads of assault and devastator marines (missiles or heavy bolters only) as options too. I'm not able to use much other than that though unfortunately.

Your input is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

If you are going to use 5 man tac squads, might as well get the razors. If you take 10 man squads, you can always combat squad if you want to go with a MSU approach. You do have a lot of point sunk into troops, I'd expect some more punch out of a 1,850 list.

Not a fan of flamers on bikes. Sure, you have the speed to get close and burn things, but you pay the opportunity cost of not using that space for grav/plasma/melta. If you need to kill something flamers are good at, just use the TL bolters on the bike.

I would not put grav guns on foot marines. If you are moving, I'd take plasma in it's place. If you plan on sitting still, take the heavy.

Of your two lists, I like the second. It feels like it has more teeth.

Flamers on Bikes and Grav on Tacs are bad. I like list 2

I prefer list 2 but I would personally drop a tac squad in place for a five man assault squad with 2 flamers and no jump packs to go chill in the stormraven.
I also really like having skyhammer missiles on the stormtalon.

I like list one but maybe aa on the cm with iron hands tactics to make him really killy and durable. Drop the pred for a second storm talon and the aa on the chptr mstr seems ok.

How many shots does a stromtalon get per game with skyhammer missiles? From what i read, it looks like only two.

Huh? The Skyhammer missile launcher is just a weapon. 3 shots per turn.

Tau? Kill em off with CC units, like Assault Squads and TERMINATORS!!! Eldar? Never fought them.
Necrons? Look above.
CSM? Depends. If they're fielding a Khorne based army, shoot. And shoot. And don't let them get near. Tzeentch? Don't let them shoot. CC them to death. Nurgle is gonna be a pain in the ass as they can more or less take lots of hurt. Slaanesh can be easily countered by using long ranged support.
If it's Undivided, I can't help you.
Chaos Daemons? More or less the same as the above.
MEQs call for things like TERMINATORS with TH/SS or PF/SB. AP 2 will kill them off unless they're fielding Deathwing or equivalent. Then take them down with long range fire. Also, I see a massive lack of CC units in both lists. Bike Squads are OK but not really my kinda thing. Whereas Ironclads are good as suicide Dreadnoughts.
And also, get rid of the Devastator Centurions. Pointless. Normal Devastators do the job well. And if you don't field those, take some proper CC units (e.g. TERMINATORS, Assault Squad, Vanguard Veterans?, Dreadnoughts etc. )

This is from the rule book, under Flyers.
Missiles are one use only, but most flyers carry two or more to maintain a steady weight of fire throughout the game. A maximum of two missiles can be fired per Shooting phase, and they count towards the number of weapons fired that turn.

Now, as the model has six skyhammer missiles, is that two shots or six in total?

Thanks dalekslayer96, if you have any suggestions on including CC that wouldn't limit the amount of anti MC and anti tank fire power, or reduce the already small amount of troops the list brings, I'd love to hear it. Also, what delivery method do you suggest, if you favour terminators? I have a tactical squad with an assault cannon ready for paint but have yet to find a useful way to fit them in.

Yes the ironclad is there as a suicide dread.

The devastator centurions are something I would like to try out. It's a way to use the Imperial Fists chapter tactics more effectively to hunt tanks and such.

Damn, I didn't notice that.

Even with that, it still seems lean on troops.

The Skyhammer Missile Launcher is not a single-use-only missile, it is a weapon just like any other weapon (for example, space marine Missile Launchers that you would have in your tac squads) with a profile that states Heavy 3 (3 shots per turn).

Single use only missiles, while still being "missiles", clearly state in their profile that they are single use only (such as Hunter Killer Missiles)
