Hi, can someone please explain what hammer of wrath is and how it works?

This forum is not a substitute for the Rule Book.

Sorry, that is the only answer we are legally allowed to provide under threat of Game Workshop's over-zealous lawyers. If I was at home I would give you the page number so you could quickly get to the right section of the book, but that is all I could do for you in this situation. My advise is to simply look up the Special Rule section, it is in alphabetical order, or look through the index to find the correct page. Should any questions still remain as to how these attacks are resolved, please provide us with more information as to what the exact nature of your question is and that we will be able to assist with.

If you still have trouble with it after looking it up, perhaps you can post how you think it works and we can correct you if needed.

Thanks!
Ok from what I under stand if a madel wit the rule I.e carnifex, charge another unit they would gAin an extra attack ( bringing a carnifex to 6 attacks ( 3+ on the charge+ tail+ hammer of wrath)) which is resolved at I10 and AP- 0.
Correct?

Read the special rule Carnifexes have.
Essentially correct though.

Oops.
Thanks Thoe.
Sweet possible eight attacks per turn, that'll teach those damn paladins.

Yeah.

The key thing to remember is it is not an attack from the model, per se. It's an extra attack you get on the first turn after an assault.

Cant someone just PM him the rules? Surely thats not illegal. Wouldnt it be the same as me just telling him or txting it to him? Or me going to GW without ever having a rulebook and just using other peoples?

In short why cant someone just PM him? Instead of answering without answering?

Yes, it would be illegal and against the forum rules as well.

Thats odd, to be clear is it illegal if i tell someone rules over the phone? I wouldnt think it is... Isnt it just like sharing any other novel with people. As long as it isnt copied etc. Kinda like how 10 people can watch a movie and not be arrested.

Or is it just because we are dealing with GW?

This is ridiculous. Utterly. Who makes this stuff up? is GW's legal team like the KGB of dakkadakka.com?

I also hate the rules around what we can and cant post. Some i understand such as language and so on but not being able to tell people rules is a pain. What can they do about it?

Shut down Dakka.

That's not an exaggeration. If they decide we're sharing too much they can send takedown notices that would require yakface to fight. I'd rather be nice to yakface and not make him go through the (large) effort of fending off takedowns.

In addition, part of the reason I don't like giving answers in cases like this is teaching a man to fish. I don't mind helping to understand - I do mind someone asking without reading the rule first.

So it is serious then... If so then makes sense.

It is indeed, and besides, it is our policy, so what can they do about it and what can we do about it both.

I get why it seems silly from a certain point of view but essentially if someone is in you make da call they are expected to have a rulebook or the appropriate codex on hand. It only makes sense right? This is a forum for active, participating gamers, so we can discuss clarifications or muddy points, but as far as just getting basic rules, that's not what we do here.

As for the PM'ing issue, there are places online that may allow that but we don't, it's down to that. Dakka does not advocate piracy.

That good for everyone?

Sadly it is that serious. This isn't just a 'phantom of what might happen' as in 2009 many major websites where successfully taken down by Game Workshop for this very reason. The process for taking a website has only gotten easier since then, most Hosting sites will simply take down a site automatically as soon as a company files a single form. No court orders needed, simply fill out a form with a Hosting site and it is up to the site owner to prove their innocence before the site is allowed back on-line. The process to fight these claims is expensive, difficult and even when the site owner is in the right the outcome is not guaranteed. After all, a Hosting site might decide it is far better to simply deny the site owner then deal with the company Lawyers on his behalf.

After all, Fair Use only matters to the courts....

Don't do the suspension thing.

The Shrouded Lord,
You won't be suspended simply for asking a question, it is the people who supply the Rules word for word that have to fear that.
