Hey Dakkanoughts!
I come to you today seeking wisdom, for you see, I have fallen in love with the Zombie Dragon/Terrorgheist model, and would like your advice in converting it, or most of it, in to a daemon prince.
I've scoured the gallery and google but I cannot find any attempt, let alone a finished model which is far from encouraging. However, I am far from discouraged as I am determined to find a way to make it work.
Do you guys think it's possible, given it's size/pose/build? How would you set tackle this? Of course people have tried to do it before, if his applies to you, how did you make it work? And most importantly, How would you make it awesome, and tip it from zombie beast to Daemon Lord?
Thank you, I await your replies!

Well first off you'll want to use the zombie dragon style wings that don't touch the ground. You'll just barely be able to fit its feet onto a 60mm base that way.
I had a kit I used to make a winged nurgle prince out of, though no pictures remain of it. You'll wanna use the terrorgheist back unless you think your Prince would wear a saddle and let people ride him. I used bits of armor from the soul grinder kit to bulk up his legs and spine, and used flame bits from various sources in his mouth to count as whatever ranged or psychic attacks might show up on all the random charts.
I'd recommend painting up his guts first before putting the ribcage on over that, or you'll be playing Twister with your fingers trying to reach inside all the nooks and crannies. I recommend either Tamiya Clear Red for bloody guts or GW's new gross nurgle slime to paint them up in. If you're going nurgle, consider green stuff to add a bunch of hanging guts and nurglings from its belly. Though try to keep them up kinda high or people will constantly ask why you modeled a bunch of dicks on your model.

Just wondering... Was this a real problem?

Thanks for your reply Badablack, just a few more questions.
Did it look convincing as a 40k model after your conversion? My biggest wory is that I won't find a way to sufficiently chaos it up,
How much room was left on the base when he's on it? I can't imagine it being much, as you said. Enough for decent base decoration?
How does it size up to the DP plastic kit? The last thing I want is to make it too small and get called out on it.
Thank you again for your reply. =D

The idea sounds great, and from my knowledge of the Terrorgheist kit (which isn't that much), as well as the fact that @Badablack said the feet will barely fit on a 60mm base, I think it will be plenty big enough. Sounds like a great idea, pictures would be great too once you start.

Thanks for your reply Sledgio, I'll make a start on it sometime this week and then post a few pictures while it's still a WIP.
I plan this to be the first use of fantasy monsters as conversions for my CSM army. After this I'll be starting work on converting a carnosaur in to a Maulerfiend which I'll be sure to bring to dakka.
Another thank you to everyone for your replies, I'm always open for more advice so if there's anything else you feel I should know, no matter how small, send it my way!
