Hey folks. Just curious on your thoughts. There's a 20 point difference that will have to come out of my lists from elsewhere if I choose the megas. Either way they'll be loaded in a rolla wagon. Not a truk.

I voted for the MANZ.
Although, i'm not sure how you are giving them cybork body without a painboy in the unit.

Manz can get cyborks only with Grotsnik. Anywayz both nobz and mnobz are meh. A min mnobz squad with an indep for bosspole feel better though.

The Nobz unit you've given is terrible, the MANz range from underwhelming to amazing
Painboy is wasted on a unit of three models, eavy armour is a waste for a unit that already has cybork, and Nobz are useless without at least one klaw in the unit!
My real vote would go for MANz + kombi skorchas though. 5pts for *that* much damage? Yes please

Now what we can discuss is if taking regular nobz for a painboy to aid megaarmored warboss better than just mnobz
I feel that the 2-d variant can be used with some effect due to 5+ fnp for a warboss's 2+ saves. It increases range durability cause mnobz generally die to ammount of ap2. So why don't you have at least fnp vs it? Yep, u're more vulnerable in mellee but there are not many things a mega armored warboss can't smash singlehanded. I mean u're not charging wraithknights with manz anywayz. And you can spend some more points on regular nobz to give 2 times more wounds. I'll definitely give it a try some day. Probably with like 4 nobz and a painboy (but they+a wagon cost like 3 bikernobz with cyborks+dok). But making them more expensive is a no-go.
Oh and i alwayz take grot orderly on a painboy. Cause first you roll armor/cover...than you think a bit...and roll fnp...than you think a bit...and re-roll fnp...
And u'r opponent goes SO many saves??!!!!1111 Those orkses are so OP!111 My tau'dar are SOOOO weak.
And u're like
Than some things like a few 5+ sucksessful covers for a wagon and u'r opponent has his resolve weakened Umiez usually remember bad things better so he won't even take into account that he's just totally shot down your lootas with that ignore cover stuff.
Also, i must tell i've tried running 3 mnobz with a kff mek with a pole. And they were oki as a cheapo retinue. But that's a bit different thing cause they were not really a striking force. More like a shield for a kff with the ability to occasionally smash some eadz on their own from time to time.

Well, crap. I forgot about not being able to unlock Cybork with MDG for the megas.
I'm trying my darnedest to make a battle wagon rush list at 1750. I won't go into details but I'll be able to have 5 Rolla wagons at this level. I'm taking the nobs to unlock 2 of the wagons. Right now I have two troops units as:
Megaboss skorcha/shoota, and BP
- 3 Eavy Nobs, Cyborked, BC, Slugga/Choppa, PainBoy
- Rolla Wagon w/ 1xBS as Ded trans
Eavy Warboss skorcha/shoota, klaw, and BP
- 3 Eavy Nobs, Cyborked, BC, Slugga/Choppa, PainBoy
- Rolla Wagon w/ 1xBS as Ded trans
I thought they'd be pretty hard hitting, resilient scoring units. Then I was reading FLGs opinion on meganobz and started to rethink. I only have one Megaboss and 3 meganobz

I'd rather take more nobz than eavy armor. And 1 pk. U'll need it. While the big chopa is meh. U see, you allready wound on 3-s or 4-s at worst. But have +1 attack so paying 5 pts is not worth it. U'll wreck any av10 with simple choppas taking such number of attacks. The only real reason to take a bc is to instakill t3 models or fight mc-s. But vs t3 guyz nobz are allready an overkill and vs mc-s...u don't really want to fight mcs with nobz! At least not with 4 nobz.

If you just want a wagon put three nobz in a deff rolla wagon with combination skorchas and nothing else.
Upgrade to Meganobz if you have points.
Anything a nob with a big choppa might do a loota will likely have done better.

That looks like a choice between bad and worse.
I think you'd be better off using un-borked MANz (no Grotsnik which costs as much as the unit and gives it rage, save points per model from the Cybork)
And I think you'd also be better off saving the 'eavy Armor on the Nobs on account of the fact that they already have a 5++ Cybork save, but that's just my instinct
Either way each unit looks like a slow, clumsy, and largely ineffective unit, and you haven't even started tallying the cost of their transport.
Should consider using a Cyborked Megaboss to soak the AP2 fire for the MANz (plus the essential bosspole) and LOS everything else to the MANz. I think that's a cost-effective way to increase the staying power, durability, and generally increase the smashiness of the unit without changing its purpose.

IIRC the Waaagh banner raises the WS of everyone in the mob by one, which can help with our lame warboss WS of 5 becoming 6

Really your paying for that AP2. PK is the onlt way orks can deal with a lot of things they normally couldn't.

The only time I ever took BC was for wound dispersal in the previous edition. Maybe if the BC was AP 4 along with +2 strength? Meh, I run BikerNobz anyways, better in almost all respects to Nobz in a wagon except they can't climb stairs in a multi-level ruin!

The best minimum upgrades you can make is adding more Nobz to max squad, then paying for a painboy, and maybe the waaagh banner so you hit most stuff on 3. A powerklaw handles anything almost and is your reward for getting these guys in somewhere. Most shooting is S7, you are already semi resilient and cheap at t4 and 2w and also starting in a vehicle. The #1 thing that will make your unit an efficient kill is S8. S8 will more than likely be ap4 or better. A single rip tide pie plate is a good example. If this is your concern then maybe spend 45 points to Bork the nobz.
If you just want wagon and you want a skeleton crew then I think you just want 3 Nobz with combination skorchas. The small point investment can make it a larger perceived threat. At almost twice the ppm cost you could go with meganobz. Making the wagon a much bigger threat until meganobz are stuck on the ground. Still, they could possibly force some armies to dedicate some weapons of an AP2 profile at them that may otherwise seek side armor on a wagon. I feel that the quantity of AP2 grav plas available to top lists makes it unlikely they would fire say a melta at the meganobz instead of plasma. What I'm saying is I don't think you'll saturate AP2 shooting with meganobz to the point of saving a wagon. I mean its the same reason orks like powerklaw, it's good for everything.
There is also a good point to make for meganobz to be used as a an MC missile. In which case you really need them in a trukk someone with an MC will hit a wagon hard and it will go down hard anyways. They could also be good for Av14 but that's why you wanted a deff rolla before with just nobz right?
I don't think meganobz can effectively score camp an objective due to ppm and leadership reasons involving low model count.
This unit you want is disposable and is just for putting another av14 deffrolla on the field. It also draws fire away from something that should be scoring on turn 5.
