Synaptic Backlash
So, roll a 3d6 before the Tervigon goes poof, and that result is leveled at all Termagant units in the area as hits. It says cover saves may not be taken, and you take out wounds like shooting. Here is my question. Can i take FNP, Armor, etc, saves. These are hits, not autowounds, according to the book. Trying to figure out the doom and gloom on this.

Spinebanks
So, do I only get to take advantage of the no-initiative penalty when i fire them, or is it automatic regardless and just another attack?

Carnifex
MCs can fire 2 weapons. Lets say I take bio-plasma and spine banks. Can i say...fire spinebanks once and the bio-plasma twice for shooting before moving into assault?

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if is aware of us at all it must know us only as Prey."

Re: Synaptic Backlash. Yes, you get your 6+ armor and 5+ FNP if applicable.

Re: Spinebanks. You do not have to fire them to benefit from the Frag Grenade effect.

Re: Carnifexes. You get to fire 2 weapons per Carnifex. So you could fire Spine Banks + BioPlasma if you wanted. (Though you would only fire the BioPlasma once, not twice.)

Edit: The doom and gloom on the Synaptic Backlash is that the radius of death doubled from the previous codex. As gaunts can no longer move after being created, any recently created brood will definitely be in range. Previously, the gaunts could move and then run or charge and be out of the 6" death radius.

Why only once if I have 3 attacks, and only 1 was used for the spine banks?

Your Attacks characteristic is used for Close Combat, not shooting. Monstrous Creatures can fire two guns per turn, and no model is allowed to fire the same weapon twice. If you fire Spine Banks, that's one. BioPlasma would be gun #2.

Synaptic Backlash: specifically state the AP and what saves cannot be taken. FNP must be specifically called out to be denied to wounds.
Spine Banks: effectively assault grenades, however I don't think there are limitations such that grenades have (ie only one model can throw).
Fexes with banks and ranged weapon: Do the spine banks specifically state that MCs cannot fire another weapon?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Nope. So, moral of the story is make sure my vomit counts.
