I recently picked myself up a beautiful Harbinger of Menoth, and she's glorious. I stare at her stat card and yearn for the chance to purify some heretics. However, there's one issue. She's soooo fragile. I haven't dared take her out yet, because I feel that the slightest movement will cause complete devastation to her and the acolytes. I do have the flagpole reinforced, with some 22 gauge craft wire that I wrapped around it, and then used a mixture of superglue and greenstuff to smooth it out and to get everything nice and rigid. It is also pinned to the body at the hand, and the body to the legs, and the legs to the base.
However, even with all of this, I still feel like she's going to break if I'm not "baby careful" with her. On the table I'm not too concerned, but transport is a different mater. How do you guys transport her? Do you just put her in a 50mm miniature slot in a trey? Does anyone have a cool, different solution to this? I'd be fine with having a separate box just for her, like I have for my Judicator. Something hard and rigid, that is foamy and soft inside. Suggestions, thoughts, comments?

This is why I like her without the acolytes. And I plan on getting rid of the flag all together.
She is one of those models where you wonder what the heck the sculptor was smoking.

If you pinned a model correctly, you shouldn't worry this much.

I will also say that her flag really needs to have it's shaft replaced with a brass rod. The unfortunate thing being that her hand is not quite large enough or properly positioned to fit a rod in it and support the weight.

If I ever find out who decided a flat rod would be the ideal flagpole, I will punch him/her.

I think their reasoning was that everyone would pin the flag so it didn't matter(except her hand is horrible for pinning)

It really is horrible for pinning. I can attest to that! I think what I'm going to settle on is to have a friend, who owns a 3D printer, print me a box specifically for her, and line the inside of it with foam, so that when the box is closed she cannot wiggle at all. If it turns out well, I'll throw up some pics here and the 3D model for the box itself.
After some brainstorming, we came up with the idea, and at the moment she's being scanned so we can form a case around her. Hopefully it'll turn out well.

I put her together and she is just fine. No need for pining once she is all together.
The only issue I had with her was the flag. I removed the flag and replaced the pole with a brass rod. I used a round file to file the pole out of her hand so the brass rod had a place to rest against. But then I decided the flag was just silly and excessive and didn't like it. So I created a standard from bits and a brass rod that I like much better. I used a DA icon from 40K as the standard topper.
If I had to do it all over again, though, I would've built her with wings. I have a pair of elder exarch wings that would've been great. But even the new Cyriss angels or warcaster wings might work. I've also heard of people using BA wings.
I will see if I can find or take some pictures...

How might you fix the chains on that model? They look extremely fragile.

For me it wasn't that they are fragile, but that their length is never right. Sure, it's easy to cut stuff that's too long down, but you can't exactly add chain if you come up short. Depending on how you base her, the provided chains aren't enough.
If you have scale chain (from the jewelry section of you local craft store) you can glue it in on both ends and leave it free to hang, or if you drip some superglue into the links, they'll dry solid but leave all the detail of the chain (dab out the excess with a napkin). You can use this method to also shape the chain any way you want, by gluing the chain in small sections and using a clamp and gravity to hold it at the desired angle. Rinse, repeat to get swirly patterns, etc.

I pinned every part of her together, and replaced the flag with a Brass Rod.
So far it works great, very durable.. just takes work to complete.
