So I've heard a few people talking that old one eye is still bad, I wanted to point a few things out that i feel like these people might not have noticed.

Old One Eye

w3 bs3 s10 t6 w4 i2 a4 ld8 sv 3+

due to the new nids rules having 2 sets of melee biomorphs gives +1 attack so bump old one eye up to 5 attacks at s10.
his tail biomoprh gives him an extra s4 rending hit which is AP2 due to him being a MC.
living batering ram now gives him d3 hits on the charge instead one 1
regen is now 4+ base instead of 5+ so every turn he regens a wound on a 4+
his warlord trait makes it so after he takes one wound he gains feel no pain for the rest of the game.
He also now makes an extra attack for each sucessful hit me makes excluding his tail

so here you have 5 s10 attacks 1 s4 rending all AP2 base, 6 - 8 s10 hits on the charge. with WS 3 on average hes going to hit about 50% of the time so on average rolls you will make 4 s10 ap2 hits best case you get 8 s10 ap2 hits. I know he is pricey but throw other hit prioority targets in with him like a trygon and he is going to put the hurt on your enemies.

p.s. Feed doesnt do anything bad since he is solo.

Tail biomorphs do not benefit from the Smash rule. Also, for OOE to be your warlord, he'd have to be your only HQ choice, so the warlord trait is pretty moot in most cases.

He's certainly improved a lot over the last codex though.

Taking a non-synapse HQ is a risk, you then need to buid synapse elsewhere in the list. He has no shooting at all and is also slow. Who's going to let him get into combat with anything other than a force weapon ...

This. You need as much synapse as you can get, and if you're not running a Tyrant or a Prime, then you're probably not going to have enough coverage to stop your army from imploding.

Hes not bad if you take plenty of synapse elsewhere. Remember that in a lack of synapse, your taking IB on an 8 instead of a 5 or 6. Also remember that for every successful initial to hit roll, you get another attack,

The old problem with old one eye was that he died.

With the cost of MC's going down there is much more T6 3+ going around, so he might be viable. Also his warlord traight being getting feel no pain might make him harder to put down depending in the wording,

Did I read right that someone said if you use him, he has to be your only HQ? I faced a bug army in a tourney Sat using the new dex and there was a guy who had him and a flyrant. He had actually let on that the flyrant was the army commander till the end of the game when I went to write down i had killed the enemy commander for slay the warlord.

I do not have the rules in front of me but I "think" most codexes only come with "if this person is in your army he needs to be you HQ". For tyranids that would be the swarmlord.

I belive the others usualy have "if he is your HQ he must have sead warlord trait".

To be perfectly blunt, whoever said that needs to get clubbed. There is no rule on any model that says that they will be your only HQ, and there never should be. That completely destroys the game if you can only bring one HQ. He "might* have meant to say that you only get 1 Warlord trait, which is true, since most of the Tyranid HQ options do have only 1 auto included Warlord trait, but in which case he got that badly garbled.

What the person actually said is that for him to be able to use his warlord trait to grant himself FNP, he needa to be your only HQ, because every other Tyranid HQ has a higher LD, making them the warlord by default.

I think I see where I misread it. I honestly didnt think that they would hve a unit that said it had to be your only one.

As a nid's person who also plays daemons the general rule for MC's in this edition is if it doesnt have shooting and it cant fly its not worth it.

Also means he can't be Warlord for the Slay the Warlord objective. Unless the other is a Tervigon, because till FAQ'd a Tervigon can't be a Warlord do to not being a character......
