OK,yesterday I tried my first list with white scar allies. I went for the command squad grav squad but I think they'll just become priority target number 1. I also realised the potential of a chapter master beatstick...... so, here's my updated list (prepare for many more!!!)

2000 Pts - Codex: Dark Angels Roster

Total Roster Cost: 1997

HQ: Sammael on Corvex (1#, 200 pts, Warlord)
1 Sammael on Corvex

: Ravenwing Command Squad (5#, 230 pts)
4 Ravenwing Command Squad
1 Ravenwing Apothecary

HQ: Librarian (1#, 150 pts)
1 Librarian + Increase Mastery Level x1 + Power Field Generator + Space Marine Bike

: Ravenwing Command Squad (5#, 200 pts)
5 Ravenwing Command Squad

Fast Attack: Ravenwing Black Knights (5#, 210 pts)
4 Ravenwing Black Knights
1 Ravenwing Huntmaster

Troops: Ravenwing Attack Squadron (7#, 236 pts)
1 Ravenwing Attack Squadron
5 Ravenwing Biker + Meltagun x2 + Ravenwing Sergeant
1 Ravenwing Attack Bike + Multi-melta

Troops: Ravenwing Attack Squadron (7#, 236 pts)
1 Ravenwing Attack Squadron
5 Ravenwing Biker + Meltagun x2 + Ravenwing Sergeant
1 Ravenwing Attack Bike + Multi-melta

White Scar Allies

HQ: Chapter Master (1#, 245 pts)
1 Chapter Master + Power Fist x1 + Artificer Armour + Space Marine Bike
1 The Shield Eternal

Troops (5#, 145 pts)
4 Bike Squad + Grav-gun x2
1 Biker Sergeant + Combi-Grav

Troops (5#, 145 pts)
4 Bike Squad + Grav-gun x2
1 Biker Sergeant + Combi-Grav

So, what do we think?

I still think you're really missing out on some banner potential. Other than that, this looks solid.

Yeah, I did want a banner in their, my issue is the cost. I would either want the dev banner or the FNP banner, but they're ridiculously expensive and can end removing some effectiveness. Truth is, I'm not sure what I'd drop to put any banner in? Every unit has a purpose now!

Hey mate, like your list, looks like a lot of fun to play! Run circles around opponents!!

I wanted to field a DA list but ended up using the banner with a primary Iron hands and LOTD force (joining a small RW contingent). Just wondering why you weren't taking land speeders, are they too fragile? I like the thought of 3 land speeders all with typhoon ML's + Multimeltas.

Please check out my list too

I would work hard to get an apotechary in the second RCS. That way you have three squads that can really kick ass in melee and you have two with good tankers. The chapter master in particular becomes pretty insane with FNP too. It may even be worth it to run the allies as Iron hands for IWND too.

You can drop some ablative bikers off the melta squads, I think you may have too many bikes as it is. All your weaponry wants to be from 6"-24" away, and as bikes take up a lot of space, you will have traffic jams.

Don`t worry about the banner, you don`t have anything that can really benefit from the dev banner anyway.

You have no anti-air. I see this list struggling against FMC's spam or helldrakes. I would drop the black knights that are in your fast attack slot for some AA. Just my two cents.

The problem is I'm trying to build a pure bike list, and there is no bike mounted anti air! But you are right, hell drakes would laught at this list!

As for squeezing in another apothecary, the bonus with keeping the ravenwing bikers at squads of 6 is they can combat squad down, which on objective games where MSU is really useful I want that ability! It also allows me best reserves versatility! And I don't really have anywhere else I can squeeze the 30 points from for the apothecary?

I liked the idea of speeders too, but I play tested them and they didn't really work for me. The best pattern by far is typhoons with heavy bolters, but they just don't do it for me. My main opponent is a farsight player, and he laughs at the typhoons. They don't seem to last very long!

Looks very good!

But Power fist -> Thunder hammer on the Chapter master.

I wanted a thunder hammer, but I need 2 more points from somewhere!

OK, I've done some point fiddling, and I have come up with a slightly different list, I don't know whether this is better or worse. Basically I lose the 2 attack bikes with multi meltas, I do gain 4 more melta guns, and another apothecary. I then have dropped the libbys PFG down to a displacer field and that affords me the shoud of hero's for a more survivable librarian!

Edit - Ignore that, changed it again!

Here it is updated:

2000 Pts - Codex: Dark Angels Roster

Total Roster Cost: 2000

HQ: Sammael on Corvex (1#, 200 pts, Warlord)
1 Sammael on Corvex

: Ravenwing Command Squad (5#, 230 pts)
4 Ravenwing Command Squad
1 Ravenwing Apothecary

HQ: Librarian (1#, 150 pts)
1 Librarian + Increase Mastery Level x1 + Power Field Generator + Space Marine Bike

: Ravenwing Command Squad (5#, 205 pts)
4 Ravenwing Command Squad
1 Ravenwing Champion

Fast Attack: Ravenwing Black Knights (5#, 210 pts)
4 Ravenwing Black Knights
1 Ravenwing Huntmaster

Troops: Ravenwing Attack Squadron (3#, 155 pts)
1 Ravenwing Attack Squadron
2 Ravenwing Biker + Meltagun x2 + Ravenwing Sergeant
1 Ravenwing Attack Bike + Multi Melta

Troops: Ravenwing Attack Squadron (3#, 155 pts)
1 Ravenwing Attack Squadron
2 Ravenwing Biker + Meltagun x2 + Ravenwing Sergeant
1 Ravenwing Attack Bike + Multi Melta

Troops: Ravenwing Attack Squadron (3#, 155 pts)
1 Ravenwing Attack Squadron
2 Ravenwing Biker + Meltagun x2 + Ravenwing Sergeant
1 Ravenwing Attack Bike + Multi Melta

White Scar Allies

HQ: Chapter Master (1#, 250 pts)
1 Chapter Master + Thunder Hammer x1 + Artificer Armour + Space Marine Bike
1 The Shield Eternal

Troops (5#, 145 pts)
4 Bike Squad + Grav-gun x2
1 Biker Sergeant + Combi-Grav

Troops (5#, 145 pts)
4 Bike Squad + Grav-gun x2
1 Biker Sergeant + Combi-Grav

So, better? Worse?

The dev banner just gives your guys a big 'ol target on their head, and you already have FNP on two of your important units via apothecaries.
My suggestion is finding 15 points for the RW Banner. I can't say how often you assault, but auto H&R is fantastic (especially when you'll be dodging hell drakes). It's also much less of an investment compared to the other banners.

It is a lot more affordable, but I tend to try and avoid combat in almost all circumstances! My shooting is so much more powerful. Apart from the chapter master! Check the new list out and let me know what you think!

Exactly, you're shooting is so powerful, which is why auto H&R is crucial. Combat keeps you safe from return fire, then you pop out of combat and keep doing what you do best. Besides, that's where you want that beat stick chapter master and those sweet Corvus hammers anyways. Huge fan of the new list, but why the RW Champ?

The RW champ is simply 2 reasons...

1 - I has 5 points left over....
2 - I can use him to keep people like the librarian out of challenges I don't fancy until I pull that hit and run move off!!
