So, do they work like rifle teams against infantry or are they totally helpless against them?

They can shoot infantry as well as any other target using the normal rules.
They have RoF1, 8" range and FP5+ against dug in targets.
Remember they have a +1 penalty to hit if they moved or are pinned.

Anything without the no HE rule can fire at infantry. Infantry AT weapons tend to be quite bad at it however.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

The only guns with ROF 1 you can really get away with using on infantry are BTGs, anything else has such a large chance of doing sweet FA that it's not really worth it.
That said, with the Bazooka's range you'll likely only be firing it against assaulting infantry in defensive fire, so you may as well try and land the hit; even if it doesn't kill anything an extra hit towards pinning the assault is worth it.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Can't bazooka teams also count as firing as rifle teams, or am I misremembering the rules for Flamethrowers as counting for them too?

I killed an infantry team hiding behind a bocage hedgerow with a bazooka once. An extra shot is an extra shot after all!

No, only gun teams can 'count as a rifle team'. However when shooting at infantry in the open there's not much in it bar the range difference.
If you're shooting at troops in bullet-proof cover you'd be better off using the bazooka as is (assuming you're in range).

Bazookas and the like are actually fairly useful in digging out dug-in infantry. A 3+ or 4+ firepower check is way better than a 6+ that you get with a normal rifle or machine gun.
