Finished my allying inquisitor and servo skulls, that will be giving some tactical support for my marines some day. Basically the inquisitor has been converted from spare bits (mostly bits from the sternguard kit and a few bits from here and there.) Servo skulls are just from various imperial kits that have them. I gave all models rubble bases made out of cork plate to make them stand a bit more out. I'm really happy with the finished models

Thanks! It took me around 5 hours to paint them up, and it was a blast

Great work, the armour and face look very natural.

Thanks! I tried a new technicue with the face. Instead of a brown wash, I used a purple wash that made the flesh look much more realistic. The armor was made to look weathered copper with sotek green watered down. (basically the same as the new technical color Nihilak Oxide, but a bit darker).

Purple on the face? I may have to try that, as I have had a lot of examples of brown wash ruining otherwise fine faces.

Here is a youtube link to the purple wash technicue for painting faces. Hope it helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erDncOZiihc

I love the subtle corrosion on the bronze armour, a lot of people go over the top when they try that.

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

The painting is fantastic. Gonna grab myself a purple wash it seems.

My OCD is acting up with the brass skull and wreath above his head. It's slightly off center on the backpack. hnnnng

The paintjob is solid, but modelling wise, I think he looks a bit too much like a Space Marine.

I love the patina on the metal bits. Really makes it stand out along with the purple wash on the face. Really nice job on the painting but is there any way to do an inquisitor in power armor without making him look like a space marine?

Indeed... Just look at Coteaz model. He looks like a space marine, but is an inquisitor

Your Inquisitor is great! Your colors are wonderful; subdued yet distinctive. Great job.

My one suggestion would be to somehow use basing elements to eliminate the pins. Flight pins totally break the suspension of disbelief, and force our eye to accept that we're looking at a plastic toy, rather than a real thing in miniature. The one skull even has a hose trailing all the way to the ground, so I can't imagine it would be too difficult. Normally I wouldn't say anything, since the elimination of hover apparatus isn't something most people consider to be worth the effort, but in the case of servo-skulls I just can't help but think it wouldn't take too much work, and it would enhance the models tremendously.
