Please stand by this earlier statement and don't derail the thread further with this line of discussion... it'd be one thing if it related at all to the sculpts here, but as it doesn't, it's getting OT now as almost all your posts have been on this topic despite saying you would move on from it.

I kind of wanted to put off any discussion of the second set of models until they were all revealed, but the plague demon seems to be taking a while. I really like the treewalker and so far all her images seem to depict a powerful image of femininity that I really like as opposed to the spider demon whose look feels much more exploitative to me. She looks purposeful, her pose suggests either preparation of action (the kneeling pose) or steady forward movement (the standing silhouette). Both of which imply a thoughtful and powerful military unit. For her add-ons I feel that the jackalope idea Jeremy talked about was super cool if only for utilizing folklore originating in the US. Otherwise any sort of weapon that brought a more primal savage feel to the model would be great, maybe a club or something that turns her whole arm into a claw/blade weapon.
The zombie dragon also looks great. Its wet feel means that it looks perfect to double as a possessed dragon or plague dragon. Some cool unlocks could include a more demonic face that has its tongue rolling around outside its mouth and curling up around its horns. Alternatively you could go with some kind of eyeless head for a more alien dragon, this would probably work best with some paint job to make some of its fleshier bits look more like resin and slime than actual body parts. Then unless something drastic happens I assume its second unlock with be an armor plug like the other two dragons.
@kroothawk: it is and it is a thing of beauty.

I was thinking if I were to get one I'd model and paint it like a gigantic flying xenomorph. There would be a black undercoat with a lot of varnish type material over the top. Then add dripping effects to its underside to give the impression that the rotting flesh was resin that was just more compact and attached to the body.

You do realize these are not 28mm size right? Compare them to the forgeworld models and you will definitely see the value, they are definitely worth the $100retail price set later, and the kickstarter price is even better.

You're joking, yes? £40-55 for a solid resin model on this scale and of this quality is incredible value, Forgeworld charge three times as much, GW's big plastics are double.

...no?
There's almost no purpose I could use these minis for within my wargaming armies. The only reason I would have to purchase this would be for use in D&D or somesuch. $75 price tag is a bit too much for that.
Forgeworld's models are also too expensive, which is why I don't buy them either.
Bottom line is that I can't see myself getting $75 worth of entertainment out of these. I'm not attacking anyone or accusing the creator of anything shady; they just aren't worth the buy-in price to me.

That makes sense in your case, Jimsolo, but just know that these are cheaper than comparable models from basically anywhere. But if they're too big for you to use, that makes sense not to go in for it... but for folks considering a big Forgeworld monstrosity, these are firesale prices

Sorry, Jimsolo. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. The price for these models is quite reasonable for how big they are, given the market for resin, scale miniatures. They are also exquisitely sculpted. I mean, if they have no use for you personally, then that's understandable, but from an objective point of view, I wouldn't call them overpriced.

Guys! Jim is allowed to think they're too expensive for him to be worth buying!
That said, Jim, your original price related comment kinda makes it sound like they're overpriced full stop, rather than for you personally, which I'd argue they're not, considering the size and equivalent pricing already in the market.

Hmmm...in hindsight, you're correct. Fixed for clarity.
In any event, I don't think that these minis are expensive for large-size minis, I think that large-size minis are too expensive. I also don't own any Forgeworld minis, nor would I buy Riptides, Wraithknights, or Dreadknights. (At least not new...used is a different story! )
That tree chick is really cool looking, it just isn't going to do enough for me to justify the expense at this point. I'm not trying to convince anyone not to buy, I just personally try not to spend more than $50 or so on a single miniature. It isn't an ironclad rule or anything (I seriously thought about it here) but I just don't think this one is going to be enough to bring me off the fence.

I had another idea for a zombie dragon head that I think has some real merit. What about a cenobite dragon head. Something where the creature has obviously undergone ritualized torture until it became something other than mortal. Say have its lips and nearby skin stretched back to reveal jaw structure, its eyes are sown shut, and spikes are driven into its skull.

A quick question about the free demons, Jeremy - do they "stack"? As in does $1k get you three additional daemons?
Also, what will be happening as far as customs value declarations go? Actual Production cost? Kickstarter pledge amounts? Retail value?
Actual Production costs would likely work for Australian customs, while Pledge amounts or Retail value could be problematic for the higher-end pledges. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also - for the Spider Demon - it really might be worth considering as an additional small add-on or bonus exclusive, some kind of "Bone Bra" to keep those who for whatever reasons (Theo's sounded quite reasonable, for example) like the model but can't really justify naked boobage.
I'll be keeping mine nipples-out, of course. But it seems a reasonable consideration for quite a few potential customers.

I said I wouldn't back this project until second wave because I expected to have to wait until then for Zombie Dragon... He's here.
I would love to see it get more tatty, with some more sinewy head/mouth options and an undead hero riding it, like a knight or mage of some sort. Think WoW's Lich King meets a Game of Thrones White Walker type champion, complete with suitably epic weapon such as a runic sword or oversized mace. I'm sure you know where I'm going with this, Jeremy - make it happen! WANT!!!
Pledged. Roll on November!

If I can post my honest opinion, the alternate head on the Tree Woman is a bit of a letdown. All the other alternative heads are distinctly different and unique and this one just kind of looks a bit bland. The facial features are only minimally changed and the leafy hair just looks like it was slapped on there last minute. You're an excellent sculptor, Jeremy, but I feel that this is below-par compared to your other stuff. The Jackalope, however, is amazing.

I think it's important to realize that head is not, to the best of my understanding, a finalized element yet. I don't want to say that it will be massively different from that, but I am certain what we have seen still has some revisions to go. After all, the pose is still in a state of flux, no?

Good points on the Treewalker alternate face. I originally intended this to be a younger looking face, sort of a springtime look, without the harsher lines of the original one. I certainly intend on developing the faces to have more distinction, and I am looking forward to keeping you involved in the design evolution. Thank you for the heads up there (pardon the pun )
In terms of the value amount that will be listed on packages when they are sent out, it will be the manufacture value, not the retail. A Kickstarter is a crowd-funding platform, not a retail outlet, and you didn't pay retail for the item. Therefore it makes no sense to use a retail price. You are backers and investors who are being sent a reward. Very good question and I am glad I got to address that here.
There is a big half-way point state-of-the-campaign address I will be filming tomorrow. This will consolidate all of the news that is important to you going into the last week of the campaign, all in one convenient vid.

I have gotten a few requests for a signature banner that you can use to help us promote our campaign. Thank you very much for your support.

How about an alternate head for him with a maggot burrowing it's way into the side of his head? Might need to lose a horn to get that to work, or instead of the shoulder spikes having a maggot crawling it's way down from the back out towards the outstretched hand to be "gifted" to a follower or an enemy.
