Bottom center one puzzles me. Is it the remnants of a victim that got scalped with a chainsword? Or is the open space a spot to put a mirror so the enemy sees their face their? What's the purpose of the hole?

The heads look pretty good, but I don't play Night Lords so my opinion may not count for much.
Regarding the unpopularity of Salamanders, I can believe it. While I love their fluff, I do not like their design aesthetic: reptile skins and skulls as armor bling.
But, I've already chosen my Legion, and it is loyalist Emperor's Children.
