Hey just seeing if anyone had any good lists they could share, the 500 point is going to be a raiding party for a scenario my friend and i have made. Going to be against tau, orks and grey knights. Also LOTS of assault marines

500p list:
Librarian - 100p
(Wings of Sanguinius/Shield of Sanguinius) who named these...?

10x Assault Marines - 200p
- Meltagun

Not a list I would play, but I guess boys before toys is the way to go. Another option is to drop a single guy from squad #1 and give Libby a Jump Pack and Fear of Darkness for his second power.

You will need a second troop choice. And flyers at below 1000 points are very risky as they might end up coming at turn 4 when there's not much left. And Furioso excels in close quaters so Drop Pod is going to do wonders with him! A Frag Cannon is propably the best choice, or you can go with two Blood Fists.

that looks good, I've got 25 marines, 5 scouts, 5 snipers, 10, assault marines but getting more, 1 dread getting a furioso dread and reclu, captain and some other things

Make better use of the reclusiarch.

Having 66% of your points in a single unit is always risky.
Even more so with a unit that is basically a Marine with FnP.

With FC and Rage and more. What if we took away some ASM and give them a DP?

The dc with the jp are just to expensive really, i would be be better having them in a bigger army, also what ba hero do you think is the best

As a generic HQ Librarian works well, but I also like Reclusiarch.
Few of the named characters are worth the points, mainly Corbulo (who is Elite anyway) and Mephiston.

Gabriel Seth is also good if you have transport/bodyguard ASM for him.

Any good tactics for the 750 team?

What if we took curbulo w/ th/ss termis and then base cheap ASM and Librarian?

I don't know the entire point of the 750 point list was a raiding party, fast moving with all the jp and the drop pod with the dread

Ok then, take 20 assault marines with meltas and SP's. A Libby w/ jump pack, blood lance and unleash rage. You got 65 pts if my adding is correct.

anyway, on a different subject any ideas for a flyers game my friend is running in a few months time, what army should i use, imps or BA and any good tacs/lists

I think a Libby with a JP will be better and they are cheaper... also, a combat shield is worthless just so you know. here is a list with a flier.

i have been saved by a combat shield so many times,it is a lucky charm my sergeant carries, he killed 2 units of Tyranids and one razorback on his own plus tonnes of csm before he died

For the 500 pt list, a single ten man ASM squad and for the other troop choice, a squad of sniper scouts with cammo. 36" rending and pinning is good covering fire to help those ASM with their HQ to get up the board.

Well, if you have amazing luck with your combat shields, who am I to complain? Go right ahead.

jpevansiii thanks for that i use that setup quite a lot in small point games, i just hope the luck doesn't change when i repaint him, what are you guys thoughts on power weapons

With what? With DC they are useless, as anything with 3+ saves will die anyway. With 10 man assault squads, It's the same thing, unless you are charged, in which case, I still think you should be fine, but if you have some points left over and already bought good upgrades like Meltabombs and meltaguns.

Sanguinary priests are NEVER a bad investment. FnP and FC is great.
Furioso dreads are pretty awesome. With pretty much any load out. Blood Talons are debatable now. If you're not taking them it's considered a good idea to swap one arm for a Frag Cannon. Which arm is up to you as it changes his role. If you swap the melta gun arm for the Cannon, you can buy a Heavy Flamer upgrade and wipe out lots of infantry and still punch out T5 2+ save characters. Or you can swap the Storm Bolter arm for the frag cannon and take a Magna Grapple. Allowing you to reel in a vehicle by it's rear armor then lay down that rending template and a melta gun shot and hopefully wreck it. If you wanna take two Frag Cannons, feel free. Just don't expect to do much in CC. Always take a Drop Pod. Librarian Furiosos, I usually stand by taking Wings and Shield. He's already expensive so I tend to leave the Pod at home and just fly up with that 5+ save covering his butt.
Assault Terminators with/without Corbulo in a Land Raider kick butt and take names. Pretty easy to know what to do with them.
Techmarines are... Tricky. If you find some way to use one, go for it and let us know how you use him. He's not an Independent character so it's a little hard to find a good role for him. He's no Mephiston that's for sure.

Techmarines can reinforce a ruin, and that ability alone is great. I would always take TH/SS termis with curbulo, they just tank shots.

I've been working on a new list I will post today that has an Axe Libby, Corbulo, and 10 Assault Marines on foot with 2 Flamers and Power Sword for Srg in a LR Redeemer. Seems playable but not at low points. I think this whole unit costs around 650 points. I do think for the points though if you want a named character Corbulo is the best. But use him exactly as he is intended. Tank wounds in front using Look Out Sir on instant death or low ap.

Drop the Reclusiarch get a librarian with shield/blood lance
Combat shield not really necessary i'd give the sarge a melta pistol or keep him cheap with a power weapon for challenges, i'd drop the stormraven in favour of another ten guys and use the points saved from the reclusiarch to give the sergeants some nice toys, or if you really feel the need for it, an epistolary upgrade for the librarian. A couple of sanguinary priests with power weapons and jump packs in there aren't going to hurt either. Or you could say screw logic and get death company lol!

You don't need the Epistolary upgrade for BA. The 2 spells you take are almost always SOS and Lance. Lance is cast during your shooting phase...SOS during your opponents shooting phase. The rules state that warp points regenerate every turn. Anytime anything states just turn and not game turn it means player turn so you can always cast both making Epistolary pointless. I'm 99% sure on this.

Anyway, Furioso Dreads with Frag Cannon and Heavy Flamer inside a pod dropping down can tank quite a bit.

Curbulo does great inside a death star of him in front of TH/SS termis.

I think you should do it with a libby and with the extra points get a Heavy Flamer on the Furioso and Meltabombs on the squad without them.
