I play trollbloods.

Base ARM 13 immediately makes her a target for whatever ranged
you got. Currently I'm playing Borka, eMadrak, eGrissel, eGrim and
Jarl.

She's not going to risk assets to get Blinding Light onto my warlock
shooters. Jarl, I think, might end up being my best match-up. Magic
Bullet is going to have her casting fewer spells or fueling fewer 'jacks.
I'm thinking with Jarl as an option, my opponent won't drop the Sibyl
on the table.

Either that, or she's going to position the Sibyl somewhere over 4"
away from any friendly model.

Borka's resiliency is more problematic, but it always was against
Ret. Mage Hunters tend to just shoot up whatever I have Iron Flesh
on due to their special abilities. I guess the only thing I can rely on is
the threat range, but as Issyria with a Hyperion has an equivalent
threat range to Borka's beasts with his feat because she has Crusader's
Call.

I think eMadrak just loses.

eGrim should be interesting. You're playing the threaten/reform
game, trying to lure enemy combat infantry into a trap (quite literally).
Since his lists feature the most shooting I've fielded with Trolls, I
will have multiple threats. The trouble will be, again, being
outthreatened due to Crusader's Call.

How are you planning on dealing?

Scavengers/Stalkers with Cryx. Keep them as far away from MHSF as humanly possible. I could see a Terminus drop maybe, playing conservatively. Maybe The Coven.

Ambushing Bog Trogs for the Gators along with a lot Swamp Pits via Barnabus.

Convergence? Eh, tough to say.

I am not too concerned with my Durgen Madhammer list. Low ARM? Decently high but still easy for Durgen to hit DEF. No way of preventing the shots from his cannon or the KD from the Earthbreaker. The moment she gets within 19" of Durgen and does not have nearly all of her focus camped, she will suck 4 stacked AOE shots coming her way, not to mention all those shells from the earthbreaker.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

As Menoth I am not worried.

We have plenty of anti-spell tech to shut down most of her tricks and can light her on Fire from range. The sad part is that she'll die to only 3 turns of fire damage with even below average rolls. If she took any blast damage maybe even sooner.

I feel that she'll never ever be dropped against Menoth if it can be helped.

She seems easy to shoot down. Ranged attacks get away from admonition and her low arm makes it easy to get incidental damage on her. If she's close enough to a jack for ancillery attack to happen then she's fairly close to the action. Infantry seem to get hosed by her feat and by blinding light but jacks and beasts get jammed by crusader's call. Still, a balanced list with good positioning should work well. Her assassination potential with mage hunter strike force terrifies me though. You are literally better off killboxing yourself than letting her even try that run with most casters. It isn't as bad as Ravyn but any time that unit gets accuracy, enemy casters have problems.

My Cygnar and Legion sides aren't too worried. Super fast halbs are the biggest threat, followed by double blinding light. Even then she can't shut down the whole army and you are due a clean fight (mhsf not withstanding)

My mercs are more concerned. Reliance on light infantry makes me a little nervous about her. The jam potential combined with the high likelihood of blinding light on key units means it will be an uphill battle.

I'm still new to Skorne but I think the strategy is the same as always: tank the hits and unleash an enraged bronzeback in response.

You don't trust a Galleon to scare her?

She propably doesnt really care about the galleon. She has little interest in being anwhere close to it and will most likely have an artificer with her. Due to this she will be def 18 against ranged attacks and immune to blast damage. on top of that there might also be a hyperion standing right in front of her, wich will make actually getting los to her pretty hard

True enough.

Forgot about the Artificer. I hate that guy.

While she's reasonably easy to shoot down, she'll have two advantages - Distance (Even using ancillary attack, she can Velocity back 6", or she can just hang 16" back from her jacks if needs be) and the fact that she makes for an excellent assassin herself with her feat and Rets normal assassination pieces.

I don't think she'll be as easy to crack as you think - I mean, Sevvy for menoth has stats near as bad, but his Focus 8 usually means he's safe as houses. Basically only Feora scattering a flaming template at range will severely worry her in the early game.

S&P stormfalls scare Galleon. Two units of them plus some incremental damage from a few mage hunter shots rip apart any colossal.

True enough.

As much as Ret needed anti-stealth, I have a feeling that they didn't, lol

Issyria has two big issues/weaknesses:

1. She does not play the attrition game. Expect a Ret player to bring lots of infantry with her for the feat, Blinding Light, and Inviolable Resolve. Add 1-2 warjacks, probably one heavy and one light, both with Arc Nodes. The light warjack will be a sacrifice for Blinding Light.

She will always go for the break or assassination.

2. Her late game will be weak. This ties a bit into attrition, but a good Ret player will field multiple threats and ways of trying to win. As those choices narrow, she will become more and more predictable and maybe even desperate.

If you treat her a bit like Major Haley in dealing with her, you'll be about in the right ball park.

As a Ret player, I cannot wait to throw Issyria down on the table.

from a game perspective, she really just makes all of you units better.

As Ret units are already amazing, they are really going to shine under her.

A couple of standouts:
She is super fragile, so i'm probably gonna need an aspis and/or Artificer for protection

Mage hunter assassin are going to be so amazing with her.

shes gonna want arc nodes, so im thinking two Phoenix's

Don't forget she has no real offensive ability herself. No weapon, no damaging spell. I am not sold on ancillary attack making up for having no damaging ability

I plan on running her behind Hyperion with one Aspis and Chimera in her BG. Then MHSF + Sentinels or MHIs.

The same way I plan on dealing with most enemy casters: get flare on them with my servitors then drag her in with the Prime Axiom and apply drill vices to the affected area.

(spoken by someone why isn't at all familiar with Retribution or much of any non-Convergence faction at all)

You're going to rethink that when MHSF comes for your Axiom.

How much shooting does it take to ace the Prime Axiom with the MHSF?

Also, how much of that is nullified by a well-placed Blinding Light?

Yeah after running the math, the MHSF isn't really going to do much to the Axiom. For some reason I thought they were weapon masters as well as jack hunters.

And Blinding Light isn't going to affect the Axiom. Unless that wasn't your point.

Warpwolf or kromac to the face.

Purification (goatvahna) to get rid of pesky up keeps or bestial (kromac) to stop spell casting.

And there is the tried and trusted method of wrecking her army. She humbugs ranged units, bar a handful of pieces circle don't really play that game.

I like issyria though. She's tempting he to get my retribution painted up. I think she is quite a strong caster.

i a not seeing an out for tough, and since she seems to have no offensive output by herself she seems to be banking on a huge feat turn to break the opponent's back. I would use this to your advantage.

also, as stated ARM 13 makes even boosted blast damage an option.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!
