I was thinking about starting a Grey Knight army, but I refuse to paint them like the 'leadbelcher, silver grey knights with some blue and red' but I really want to paint them in a colour scheme that is not commonly seen and original, I was thinking that I could maybe paint them like they're 'evil-ish' or I saw some pics of someone who painted his GK's in a really bright, flashy basecoat and trimmed with black, I really liked the way that looked. So I can't really think of something super creative and original to paint my grey knights like.

Does anyone have an idea for a really cool/original colour scheme for the Grey Knights?

Thanks in advance!

White armour with gold looks brilliant on them if you have the patience.

White and gold sounds pretty cool, any suggestions what colour you would do the weapon in if you do them in white and gold?

Since I had the exact same dilemma as you I tried a very hasty paintjob on a termi (the paintjob is a bit crappy since It was only a test model )
I hate painting black and white so I gave up on the scheme but the pic is here

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

How can you call that effect on the powerhalberd HASTY? I can't even come close when I actually try, but thanks for uploading the picture, now it's alot easier to imagine this in white, I can see myself liking it alot (or even in some shade of green xD)
Thanks again for giving me a good idea now, also how did you manage to get the effect on the blade of the halberd O.O

lots of options,

personally I went with a really dark metal, and lots of gold/coppor/silver/bronze highlights and fillagree, pick out the guns/ceramite in something bright, pick out a nice bright colour for they eyes and weapons to stand out against the darker metal colour on most of the model.

I do my metals as psudo NMM though, so using a metallic paint, then lots of inks to tone down the sparkly ness and make it into a very dark metal

plan it out, but you are on the right track,

the eyes, the weapons, the bolters, those are the main points that are easy to make really bright I find.

as someone else said, you can do white armour, or technically any colour just lik enormal marines... saw one guy who had a "counts as" GK army painted in the chaos thousands suns colours with some conversions... looked PHENOMINAL..

The effect on the halberd is done with an airbrush. The effect is quite easy to pull of as soon as you manage to cover with paper tape the halberd.
The shoulder pads are vallejo liquid gold with bleached bone which gives a nice archaic feeling to it. I think I am gonna try to paint a whole squad of paladins in that scheme (white with gold).

Original color of Grey Knights was...surprise! Grey. They had lots of colored bits though from the custom heraldry they were allowed to wear. The armor was grey in that it was unpainted as opposed to an actual grey color scheme. I agree with you OP, leadbelcher GK's make me want to vomit almost as bad as metalic Tyranids.

Here's a nice collage of older models:

Although, back then there were always those models that didn't quite fit in:
