Ive played a few games of X-wing and I am hooked. Absolutely loving this game. Really enjoy how easy it is to get to grips with, and how fast paced and tactical the gameplay is.
I only have 2 core sets, a Firespray and a YT-1300 as yet. More will be purchased on pay day!

I have a question concerning a situation that arose in my game today. My game ended when my opponent (a friend of mine), having made a poor move in the previous turn, ended up moving Slave 1 off the board (who still had 5 hull points). However, before he did this, he dropped his seismic charge.
This then hit, and killed, the stricken Millennium Falcon which had only a single hull point left.
After we stopped laughing, we assumed this meant that the game was a draw, as at the end of the turn, no-one was left on the board.

Are we correct? I dont mind one way or the other as it was a fun game that ended hilariously, im just curious!

I would say so.

Nope, you win the game. The bomb doesn't detonate until the end of the activation phase, while ships that leave the table are immediately destroyed. And as soon as one player has no ships on the table the other player immediately wins. So the game ends and you win before the seismic charge detonates.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

This sounds right to me. It is still a hilarious ending though.

Ah ok, thanks for your help! We thought that because the rulebook says you 'check for victory' after the end of the other phases, that because we both died at the end of the activation phase it was a draw. Thanks for clearing that up, its worth knowing for any future games.

We thought so! The turn before, he had accidentally taken a tie off the board too (by about a millimetre!), so we reckon that Tie knew what was coming an bailed, then Boba dumped his seismic charge and scarpered before it went off! Sadly Han wasn't quick enough to see it coming and got stuck on an asteroid when it hit!

In a tournament, you win. In a friendly game, you should treat it as an awesome draw.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
