I'd much rather prefer my motorcycles with two wheels. Not saying that this isn't useful, but it looks like there is absolutely no protection from the elements, and god help you if there is a strong wind slamming into your flank.

You know what? Its actually not that bad of a design. Seems like it would be a lot more dangerous than a regular motorbike, but still, not bad

Around here it would depend on how it is set up. It would require all the things to make it road legal (lights, turn signals, horn, what ever else the state law requires) and would need to be registered. The operator/driver would need to have the correct license as well.

I saw an interview he did talking about that. He said when you throttle it, there's this moment of nothing, then a huge whine and just unlimited pull like you've never felt before. That would be cool to experience.

10mph, and only 10 miles... yeah, this thing is closer to being an old-age scooter than a motorbike. I mean, cool concept, but for the cost and trouble....

Perhaps it'll be the start of a new style of bike that'll improve over time, of course, but if they do get it to go faster I'd hate to think about braking heavily on that thing - I'm rather sure the segway gyroscope can only handle so much torque...

On the positive, the wife starts bike classes this summer. We're going to start on matching Honda rebels and then diverisfy into her chopper/my rice rocket when GC graduates.

The Rebel is a really good beginner bike. Nice and light with just enough pick up to be fun. Short seat hight coupled with a relatively narrow seat which tends to be a good thing for a lot of female riders.
