Hello all. My wife and I are relatively new to war gaming but we have some experience with Malifaux and the contents of the dark vengeance box from 40k.

What are your plans for the Dark Vengeance box?

My plans are to eventually get around to painting it. Playing greyscale armies are no fun.

Lol, yeah. What are you going to do as far as armies, though? Are you CSM or DA? You thinking about sticking with and expanding one of those armies or what?

I prefer to play nids, the wife prefers to play chaos daemons. We're keeping the chaos models in case either of us want to start a chaos marine army. I think I'll keep the others to test color schemes or to convert into something else.

You could try to make certain models count as something else. For example, the Hellbrute represents a hive tyrant, the cultists represent Termagaunts, DA Tactical Marines represent Bloodletters ect.

Then that Dark Vengeance box is just a very expensive rulebook?

Nice that your wife also wants to play! You are blessed (or she is, don't know), sir! All the best and there are many people showcasing Tyranids and Daemon armies in the P&M and P&MS fora.

Generally I'd say the Dark Vengeance box is worth it no matter what you play, merely because you get a rulebook, templates, and dice, which covers the price right there. Then you're basically getting a buttload of bits for free that you can at the very least use for converting.
