I just played a game with a Hive Crone and noticed that they don't have skyfire.
Flying MC doesn't get it as default like Flyers (vehicles).
Those Crone missiles are rather dull now, reroll to hit but only snapfire against flyers...

Rulebook, page 81, top right corner.

Now I really want to see what your meta looks like if you've all been missing that... I'm curious!

@Quanar: I had read that over and over and I never believed it until my practice tourney yesterday. I was coming in hot with a dakkajet on a stormtalon. My opponent kept telling me that I was hitting him. I was patting him on the head and looking at him with derision saying "I don't need your pity bonus!" He called over the TO. I reluctantly agreed. "How could this be?" I thought. "I play Orks. We can't hit anything." Turns out I wasn't using "Straffing Run" with my dakkajets either. i feel pretty silly for coming back to dakka dakka and hating on them a few months ago. Lol.

It's like waking up for school (back in the day) thinking its a Monday, when it's really Saturday.

The best part was when I told my stepson... I just finished painting his crimson hunter.

Is there a specific rule, that gives FMCS sky fire or just that one sentence about fliers in the vehicles section (pg 81) of the BRB? As they aren't vehicles and have their rules set out in another part of the book? I've played it until now as they having sky fire, but this makes me wonder. Also if this is the only mention of them receiving sky fire then do they have it when on foot as they aren't technically a flyer at that point.

Seriously, read the BRB FAQ.

Yep just re read it, I was sleepy after my game last night. Swooping flying monsterous creatures can choose to use sky fire or not. At the beginning of their turn. So I suppose the distinction is they have to be swooping.
