I am trying to put together a 1500 point Daemons list that will be able to compete with competitive lists. My FLGS has some players that like to play competitive lists, and I want to be able to wing against them. Will this list do okay or does anything need to be changed?

Points: 1500

HQ:
Fateweaver
Daemon Prince (biomancy)
+ Daemon of Slaanesh
+ Wings
+ Armor
+ ML3
+ Greater Reward (lash)
+ Exalted Reward (portal)

Troops:
11 Pink Horrors
11 Pink Horrors
11 Pink Horrors

Fast Attack:
13 Flesh Hounds

Heavy Support:
Daemon Prince (biomancy)
+ Daemon of Tzeentch
+ Wings
+ Armor
+ ML3
+ Greater Reward
+ Exalted Reward (grimoire)

You might want to consider dropping the hounds and a squad of horrors for another daemon prince.

Hounds can be good here though. Sometimes people complain about their DPs getting killed by 60 gaunts or something. Flesh hounds are great at tarpitting squads that try to counter DPs with mass of fire.

Also id suggest making that slannesh DP a tzeentch one.

You're certainly on the right track though, the flying circus list has proven itself time and time again. If you ever up the points try to get Be'Lakor in there, and make sure you strategically place that portal. Its your source of troops.

I think I might need a slaanesh one just for the anti-flyer and tank. I would make the hounds into a DP but I don't think there are points left to bring a fully upgraded one. What I could do is switch the hounds out for a KoS and switch the tzeentch DP into a slaanesh one.

How we'll do you think my original list would do in a competitive environment?

The slaanesh prince is 100% fine. You don't need to waste a biomancy roll for the shooting attack (like tzeentch princes do...) and if you get iron arm you're looking at a flying 2d6 str 7-9 platform who's also a close combat beat stick.

I don't have anything to say about effectiveness and I know not everybody cares about lore but those corndogs in an otherwise slaanesh/tzeentch force... it hurts my fluff bunny ;_;

So this list is good to go out and buy? How do you think it will do vs. Tau/Eldar? I have the models for a screamerstar if that would be more effective maybe.

Adding in another kitted Tzeentch prince with 2x11 Horrors puts you at 1518. I've looked at it time and again. Very saddening.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
2x10 horrors sacrifices the extra d6 shots to fit in the prince, so there's that.

It's a pretty good list, except for the fact that I wouldn't take the flesh hounds, okay they can be really good, but I would switch them with a extra squad of pink horrors, for the extra warp points, your daemon princes are going to be able to be way better for the psychic powers for the rest You could see if you could replace the Fateweaver with a LoC, the LoC is another FMC so he's good for the stats he has he can be pretty damn good. But ofcouse the fateweaver let's you reroll warpstorm table, so it's really up to you to see what's more important to you

Outsmart what you can't beat, and beat what you can't outsmart.

And re-roll grimoire dice.
