We had intended to have a Dark Age Demo at Salute for Dark Age, but the demo product has not yet arrived so its unlikely we will be able to build it in time. However we should have the full range and some great offers to get you started.

There's a new Book (Fanaticism - I think?) and Faction incoming - The Prevailers!

And man, do they look sweet!

DARK AGE is one of those games that's always intrigued me...and I'll admit I was jealous when Jin got a free rulebook at Adepticon 2012!

Some of the miniatures are absolutely stunning, and the art and production values of the books is quite nice.

I think the release of the Prevailers will finally push me over the edge...and I'll start yet another game system! Prevailers and Kukulkani it is!

At least it is small scale, skirmish and has really nice looking models to paint, right?

RIGHT?!?

They tell you it's a skirmish game to lure you in......

a few years pass and it's WFB and all those big, big blocks

The game is actually totally a skirmish game. A few factions can literally field main game size lists of 4 (monstrous) models.

I've enjoyed it a great deal. The game reminds me a LOT of 'old school' warmachine, but cleaned up a bit and more interactive. The nature of how you can chain melee charges together in this game means that melee is actually the way to sweep away large numbers of enemies.

I've never played a round of Dark Age where both sides weren't devastated by the end.

How fast does a typical game play?

I'll admit I've been eying those Aztec inspired Kukulkani for a while as it is, and I've really liked all the Prevailer artwork shown off.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

hour to an hour and 15?

The game is underrated and underplayed.

It's actually a pretty damn fast game.

I'm mostly thinking in terms of WM/H and Infinity, which can be pretty fast. Dark Age is a touch faster than those potentially. I've had general 750 point games end in about 30 minutes.

I'd say the average game is probably 30-45 minutes at that point level, which feels 'normal' to me. 1000 point games shouldn't take more than an hour.

I 'blame' cincydooley for getting me into Dark Age!

Well, that and the beautiful minis, and the skirmish rule set, and the gorgeous rule books, and...

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Damn that bloke would be worth buying even just to salvage the head, incredible character to the face. Who's the sculptor?

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

Yodrin, it looks like the last two previews are both sculpted by MIKH...
he uses a lot of brass in his sculpting...

while i don't play any games, i have been collecting Dark-Age from day one, over ten years ago...
the sculpts are great, the cast high quality, the books are beautiful, the story is interesting, and who doesn't love the art of Brom...
i highly recommend it all..

cheers

I know Patrick Masson is their primary sculptor, but I'm not positive if he's responsible for all of these. Lemme ask.

Thanks. It's seriously fantastic, I've been struggling to decide what Heresy-era force to do for months, and the instant I saw that face I thought "White Scars, a commander with that head is worth doing a whole army of White Scars"

Are these Cyborg Archangels? Did I see, like, zombie-cyborg-Mayans on the website?

This is bad.... Because now I have to play this game, too, and I've already got a mile-long list of miniatures I want to buy.

That is Patrick Masson for sure. His style of sculpting, and his style of photographing. And as mentioned above, he is one of the main sculptors for this range.
