Morning Dakka,

So I have a 600 point Farsight Enclaves list already for the invasion tournament at warhammer world next month and I’m am looking at expanding it long term.

The list contains a number of the eight because i like the fluff and I think they add something to the units they will join and the army as a whole. You’ll notice that there are no riptides (shock horror). 2 reasons for this:
1. Helps me afford a decent number of troops due to them being all battle suits.
2. With 6 broadsides already, I don’t wanna be that guy in my area, already got one of them haven’t we Flingitnow? :-P.

Anyway here is the list. CC please guys.

HQ (Members of “The Eight”)
Commander Farsight
Shas’vre Oblotai
Sub Commander Torchstar
HQ
Battlesuit Commander- 2 x Burst Cannons, Drone Controller, Target Lock

Troops
3 XV8’s- 6 Burst Cannons, 1 Flamer, 6 Gun Drones, Bonded
3 XV8’s- 6 Plasma Rifles, Bonded
2 XV8’s- 4 Flamers, Bonded
2 XV8’s- 4 Fusion Blasters, Bonded

Fast Attack
5 Marker Drones

Heavy Support
3 XV88’s- 3 HYM, 3 SMS,3 EWO, 6 Missile Drones, Bonded
3 XV88’s- 3 HYM, 3 SMS,3 EWO, 6 Missile Drones, Bonded

Total= 1750

Ok so the HQ’s are split thus:
Farsight- Joins Plasma Team- can’t think of a better place in the list for him .
Oblotai- Joins a Broadside Team- adds some sky firing goodness and a 4th broadside.
Torchstar- Now she has two places to go. When needed she’ll join the second broadside unit and not fire to grant them ignore cover. When not needed she will hop into the marker drone squad for BS5 markers.
Shas ‘O- Joins Burst Cannon Team- adding Dakka and BS5 to the drones.

So that’s the list. It’s not uber competitive but I think it will be fun and will do pretty well against most.
Also any thoughts on what I could do to take it to 1850 rather than just add more of the same?

Couple of things I would change around:

Remove the marker drone unit, and add them to the plasma crisis unit. Then give those crisis suits target locks. Now you have a perfect place to put Torchstar. Plasma that ignores cover and BS5 markerlights that go into another target.

I'd give one guy in each of your large units vectored retro-thrusters. With the drones' initiative, the low cost of the upgrade, and the high cost of the units, it's definitely worth it.

I'd drop Oblotai. He's not really necessary, and with the points saved you can afford the other upgrades and a couple of single suits for cheap, annoying scoring.

Now, obviously, the best thing you could do is to add a Riptide and turn it and the Broadsides into the formation, because it just adds so much for so little, but hey..

Thanks for the reply

that IS a good idea. May have to seriously consider that option.

Not got by book to hand but cannot remember what they do.

hmmm, i see your point but i do like him and part of the decision to take was the modelling and painting project he would pose as i am thinking of kit bashing him with an XV9 from forge world so not sure about dropping him.

Agreed however as i said i really don't want go down that route if i can help it.

Playing without them i feel will make the game more of a challenge.

Vectored Retro Thrusters give you hit and run for the same cost as an EWO.

Another good option, although Tau I isn't great so not sure how effective it will prove.

Drones are I4 and Farsight is I5, so in some of your units it can be great.
