With some friends we came to know this wargame (not much played in Italy), and after trying some games we decided to buy something. We wanted to start playing with 25pt, so my question is: what do you advise me to buy with the army battlebox to reach that score?
Considering that I do not know very well yet all the mechanics of the game, you could recommend some model that is integrable withbase pack and can also be used in a futus if i want enlarge my army?

I apologize for my English, though there is clearly something I will try to explain better

My first suggestion is for you all to not rush to 25 points. 15 is viable and allows you to swap out some of the unnecessary warjacks from the battle box with infantry so you can get used to infantry rules. As a Cryx player, those are most important for you.

Playing at 15 points for a while also lets you and your group figure out if you really want to stick with the warcaster that comes in the box. There is nothing wrong with the casters that come in the boxes, but they aren't going to match everyone's favored play style. The Khador player may take a look at the axe maniac Butcher and decide he really wishes he didn't invest in things that go with Kommander Sorscha. The same goes for you and War Witch Deneghra. She's frail and doesn't participate much directly with the board, preferring to sling debuff spells through her arc nodes from far away.

While most battle boxes generally offer a fairly even matchup, the Cryx battle box is a bit special in that regard. We get one of the most abusive casters in the game, Warwitch Deneghra, and a total of 14 points in the box. Most boxes come with a more balanced caster and 11 points total. The good news is that you can make use of most of the box over the course of your play time. The two deathrippers can go with any of our spell-centric warcasters in any list, and the Defiler is epic Skarre's best friend and in general isn't a terrible way to spend a leftover point. The Slayer will not see a whole lot of use, but it does make a good model to proxy other warjacks such as the Deathjack or Nightmare depending on what you are playing. You can also magnetize the arms and head and make a bits order from Privateer Press to get parts for a reaper to increase the use you'll get out of the model.

That all said, pDenny (Warwitch Deneghra) can have a pretty versatile list. Generally she goes with the following: two arc nodes, a Skarlock (somewhat optional), and a Warwitch Siren.

From there she's very flexible and can take pretty much any infantry she wants due to her debuffs. Most people go with Bane Thralls as they are a very nice, resilient unit that can put out a ton of damage. With their Unit Attachment they gain Tough and automatically stand up from being knocked down so they're even more resilient than before. They just recently got released in plastic too, so they're even more affordable. The Warwitch Siren is a fantastic toolbox solo. It can give one of your arc nodes a free focus, has stealth, has Shadowbind to lock down heavy warjacks, has parry to walk away from combats she somehow survives, and lastly has Venom to help clear out infantry. Lots of good things for two points.

She doesn't usually take a heavy warjack, but she can if you'd like. She gets along best with Nightmare, her character Slayer warjack. Her best heavy option is probably the Minion faction's lesser warlock pair, Wrong Eye & Snapjaw. The models are beautiful but a bit expensive and I wouldn't invest in them until you're absolutely certain you want to use them. Proxy them a few times first if you're interested.

At 25 points I'd aim for the following:

pDenny +5
Deathripper - 4
Deathripper - 4
Nightmare - 10
Bane Thralls (minimum) - 5
:: Bane Thrall Officer & Standard - 3
Skarlock Thrall - 2
Warwitch Siren - 2

This uses four of the five models in your battle box. Proxy the Slayer as Nightmare and you're all set for a while. You can apply most of the models in this list to several of our warcasters so even if you wanted to change your caster you can still use the other things. Nightmare (Slayer) is really the only model that generally doesn't get tossed into a bunch of lists, but as noted earlier you can magnetize the arm and get a few bits to make it into a Reaper or just use the model to proxy others. The Reaper is a decent utility warjack and gets along to a fair number of other casters. As always, proxy first and then purchase. The Skarlock, Bane Thralls, and Warwitch Siren go with nearly any of our casters so you can almost always make use of them.

If you want to use the models from the battlebox, I'd recommend getting either:

A) a unit of Bane Thralls with their U/A

or B) getting a unit of Mechanithralls with 3 Brute Thralls, and a Necrosurgeon with stitch-thralls and a Machine Wraith.

Both options will take you to 25 points, and both sets (Banes and Mechanithralls/necrosurgeon) are great options that often get used at higher levels of play.

This was the basically the core of my Cryx list for quite some time and it works well. And easy to expand on to 35 points as well which is a more typical size for games.

To save cash I would suggest getting the new plastic bane thralls that just came out. It is cheaper than the metal and is a full unit. That box and the starter box will be about as cheap as a start as you can get into the game.

I'm sorry, I could not resist and bought a Deathjack .... it was amazing. I hope it was not a too much stupid purchase and can find space in the army lists in the future.

THE Deathjack (remember that Deathjack is a character warjack) is arguably one of the most powerful warjacks in the game. It's expensive, but for the point cost you typically can't go wrong, and is considered a faction staple as much as Bane Thralls are.

It is a walking reminder that even machines have conquered death and thirst for souls.

Yeah, he's pretty good

Deathjack is a ton of fun. And a very good model with a lot of our casters.

Lots of points, though, and your opponent will know it and gun for him. Remember this and play him appropriately.
