So IA: Apoc was SM units were up to date for three months, and then you need to buy another book. That's just crazy.

My snippet is from IA2:SE (Dec2013). It sucks the contemptor mortis has been getting nerfed in almost every way, especially given that walkers in general are a nerf compared to MC's.
It doesn't help that the options didn't get cheaper either. The point costs I blacked out are the exact same as in IA:Apoc(2013)

I find it terrifically odd they changed the stats on the Mortis Contemptor again between HH Book 2 and the latest IA book. They were released like back to back.

Well 30k and 40k aren't exactly suppose to be mixed.
Stat, point and rule differences between the two really wouldn't surprise me. Different balance issues.

Back in the Horus Heresy, they were a bit pickier about who they put into their Dreadnoughts: you had to be a real hero. In 40K, any old BS4 chump can get lucky and score a dreadnought when he dies.

I'm aware, however as I already said vehicles seem to be the exception to that. Every other vehicle I'm aware of that exists in both 30k and 40k are identical in initial points cost and loadout, though they might pay differently for upgrades. I find it strange the 30k one would be cheaper and more effective at what it does, too, as most stuff in 30k tends to have a more bloated points cost.

Also, 30k stuff says it's meant as a supplement for 6E Warhammer 40k, so anyone claiming the two aren't supposed to be mixed are misguided.

The 30K Predator comes with a better autocannon, so there's another difference.

I believe, per IA2 (second ed), which is the most recent publication, it is BS4.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

My mistake, I responded thinking the abbreviation mean the revised imperial armour apocalypse book, in which case i was correct.

I now see the abbreviation is not finished and had it included the warmachines of the adeptus bit i would have been clearer to me that that was the book being referred to.

It is confusing, and I wish FW kept a list of their own that had the unit and most up-to-date rules so that we wouldn't even have to have this discussion!.
