Here is a Necron flyer spam list I wrote up. It utilizes many "croissants" and also abuses Imotekh with the Bastion. Basically you put Immy behind the bastion on a table corner so he cant be seen by almost anything. There are a surplus of troops, and with the worst enemy of this list being Triptide Tau, I think that this is a really strong list.

I wanted to try a list like this but I think a lord would work better than Immo. I think he is just too expensive.

Can you use the new fortification book? If so the Wall of Martyrs - Imperial Bunker is cheaper than a Bastion.

Pretty standard necron flyer list. It will work no doubt about it. Don't think you'll be very popular at your local gaming club though.

Lol very true, but with all the Tau running around at my FLS I think there will be enough AA.

Do you mean Stronghold Assault? Also why would you take a Lord when the whole point of Immy is to use his lighting template and just hide. Sorry if I sound critical, but I'm truly just curious about your logic.

Lighting seems hit or miss. You can do well w/ it or get zip.

That's true, but it's not the main part of the army. It is just there because like you said, it's hit or miss, but hopefully my opponent will be too busy with the flyers. If you we're to take a Lord, how would you use him?

In my flier list I usually stick my lord in front of a squad I need to survive to hold an obj. A lot of times I'll break him off and he'll assault something solo. I always give him 2+ 3++ with a war scythe and MSS. He wrecks things.

My fav squad is the 2 Cryteks w/ flamers joined to Deathmarks in a scythe. Very rarely do they not completely annihilate what ever unit I target.

The lord is hidden behind the bastion. As the bastion is not occupied at the beginning of the game then you can't shoot at it. I think thats how it works. .

As truly excellent as the Death & Despair squad is, they do come up a little short against MCs.
As as the current trend is many metas is to load up on Riptides/Wraithknights/Nid-Zilla/Daemon Princes/etc., that doesn't bode well...

I would have thought 2 flamer hits w/ no cover plus the snipers would almost kill a MC in round and it isn't a huge point cost.


That isn't even considering the flying units shots.

Never heard that one before. Its just an AV14 Medium Building, why wouldnt you be able to shoot it?

Buildings as per the BRB aren't target-able unless occupied.

I only say thunderfire cannon! Or any barrage weapon on that note will screw ur day.

I don't understand a flyer spam list with D&D squads (I'd run 2 at this point level). You say the meta is shifting to MCs but I'm not really seeing it. I'm seeing deathstars. O'Vesastar, Gravesastar, Faraight bomb, Screamerstar, Seer star etc. So whilst MCs feature heavily they are often part of a unit now. D&D squads love deathstars.

Could someone write an alternate list that has maybe a Lord and is more balanced? I would just appreciate it if someone could do this and then explain some strategy for it. I am not the best at Necrons as they aren't my main army. Thanks

It has admittedly drawn a game once against Daemon flying Circus with a 250 point handicap. Barges add to the S7 spam. Stormteks deal with anything S7 can't hurt. D&D squad delete your opponents 2 best units.

Hi FlingitNow, how are your Courts transported?

In the Nightscythes. 2 Despairteks in each Deathmark squad. The stormteks split dependant on opponent. If he has vehicles with 4+ HPs I put 2 into two different warrior squads otherwise I put 1 in each.
