Made my Aegis Defense Line for my Alien themed bugs. Turned out well for the effort.

I'd personally hit it with a drybrush of something reddish, depending on your army colours.

Yeah its not painted yet. I am also gonna try doing a pattern similar to the inside of the ships in aliens.

You mean a shiny black? With water efects on them? It sounds a bit dull?

Yeah, Im looking at doing gloss black with silver highlights with a brown wash or silver washed heavy black to get a shiny metalish black for my aliens. Gonna test out a few different things to see what I like best.

I picked up some dandy xenos ADLs, much better than using the stock imperial ones from GW. Chaos and Necron, not tyranid but they looked good too.

Dandy barriers do indeed look good. I'm still working out how to do the tyranid ones. I will probably add some more tyranid specific parts to it. Im working on Xenomorph them so maybe trying to make a different pattern on the walls as well. Either way I will paint up both. My scheme is gonna be a chrome metallic with heavy black wash.

Adding some actual tyranid components should help spice it up nicely. There are plenty of options, which I imagine as a 'nid player you should have in your bits box. If you don't I can recommend Bulletbits on ebay who carries a large stock of tyranid bits. Some of the chaos/daemon bits might be suitable too, ie. the plague drone stuff.
