Anyone else see these?... are these old and I'm just late to the party?

Page 202-203 of Warhammer: Visions shows both a Carnifex and a Flyrant with a new TL-Devourer. Looks cool.

Have you got a pic?

Is it these?, I don't have a copy of visions but this is a commonly accepted conversion.
Its the fleshborer hive from the tyrannofex/tervigon kit.

Sorry! I mean in general, I actuely like your colour scheme, just don't think the hive looks "right" then again I like terminators so I can't talk.

Yeah, it's a bit of a 'marmite' conversion but having seen it in the flesh, mocking one up and not in that awful yellow/green scheme I was pushed into the 'like' camp.

That was the best response I've seen in years.

I actually don't mind the Fleshborer Hive. I think the Problem is that it's a set of limbs. if it were part of the wings, maybe?

The front limb is a crushing claw arm with two devourer tip grafted on. It's a way to get around the fact that you need two sets for a dakkafex and the kit only comes with one. Fortunately the business end of the MC devourer arms and the standard infantry devourer are the same size. You can cut up the extra infantry ones (any nid players should have tons of these lying around) and make extras for your MCs.

The tail piece connecting the front arm to the back arm is a nice touch.

Yeah could be, but GW hasn't been showing off custom conversions in their publications for years.

Not true really, they have shown the Fleshborer Hive conversion for Flyrant before (granted that's not much of a conversion as it's just gluing a bit from another kit on.)

This is a missed buisnis opertunaty. IF people spend 4 ouers modeling and converting their models chances are they will buy more of their product later on.

Would have been cool if GW made a detailed article about how to do this to go along with the recent Tyranid release and add some actual (and timely/relevant) content to the magazine.

Yeah man. If GW get sent some pictures of converted models they should call them up and make a tutorial. It would be great!

You know what would be great? If they actually put such weapon options in the Hive Tyrant kit.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

This. They make a Flyrant look like a praying mantis, which I dislike because I dislike insectoid stuff in general and that it looks like a close combat weapon.

I dislike the Fleshborer Hives because they're far too big for the size of the model, they looked like you just took the arms from a bigger model and glued them to the Hive Tyrant (which, oddly enough, is exactly what you did).
